So I've been washing my hair every 2 to 3 days with non-diluted Dr. Bronners for about 2 months now. And when I get out of the shower I've noticed my hair is really oily and almost even waxy. I can bend the dreads and they stay in the shape bent and the tips of the dreads that are undreaded (they come undone) feel very oily and really waxy. Even if I really really rinse. But when the hair dries that feeling completely goes away. Does this happen to other people? Today after mowing the lawn I diluted the Dr. Bronners, about a palmful in a cup of water. But then here is the part I'm worried about. I've read people talking about acv rinses or Apple Cider Vinegar rinses and so I bought some Haines ACV today. Aaaand, I soaked a cup into my dreads. straight vinegar. right onto my head. Man did it burn my eyes. then I let it soak for about 5 minutes and then rinsed as much out as possible. was the straight acv a mistake?
i think it might be because you are not diluting the dr. bronners. i usually take an old shampoo bottle and do 1 part dr. bronner's to 12 parts water and work out of that for as long as i need to.
I always use straight acv... but I spritz it on with a spray bottle and sometimes leave it in for up to an hour. works great.
you gotta dilute the dr bronners! i do like 1:10. my general rule of thumb is if the essential oils burn your eyes (assuming you dont have the baby mild version) its too strong.
