You all know that certain women like Jane Seymour look great with their long hair. But what to ya'll think about us average Jane's as we get older should we keep our long hair or not? Mine has been long forever only cut it kinda short once. Can't stand the suburban housewife look on me.

I love long hair on older women (older to me is older than me)

I find that a certain attitude, or maybe an 'aura', if you will, comes with it. Kind of a 'this is me, if you don't like it, that's your problem' kind of sense.

    just my observation......

I know many older women with short hair who are just as strong and self-assured; it just seems to be more prevalent with long hair.

    enough rambling..............

I like long hair on me (lettin' mine grow back out now). If you want something different you could post a picture of yourself and maybe people could give you suggestions or show pictures what might look great on you.

Maybe you need to just change the style a lil' bit. :) Sophisticates Hairstyle Guide has tons of different styles. You can pick that up at Rite Aid or you local drug store.

I wish you well with this.

I am very emotional about my hair so a lil' change could be a drastic change for me. I always end up growin' it out to the style I love. Just do what works for YOU ;)

I've noticed that a lot of older ladies cut their hair short. I think it looks cute on most of them, and I'm certain that it's a lot more manageable for them. Even when your hair is at a medium length, it can be a bitch to deal with. Shirley McLaine looks cute with short hair. The old lady from Titanic could have used a trim...

Thanks for the responses. I can't see myself doing the granny bun but I do like braids. When I had worn my hair shorter before(long time ago) it didn't really seem any easier to tend to. I guess you have to go extra short for that. I will post picture if I can figure out how to do it. I can't find my digital camera cable. That'd be a good start.

what if you are like me and your hair seems to get shorter on its own, in other words, the new hairs that come in are shorter than the hairs you had before. This is so fustrating , why did it have to get long in the first place if I couldn't keep it.
