Regardless of what you believe to be true or untrue, the truth will probably turn out to be something you hadn't expected. God, Reality, whatever you call it - its nature is unknowable. If you think ANY human Belief System has it all figured out, you're wrong. And that includes an atheist "scientific" view of the universe. Anyone who says they know what happens after death is full of it. You may have some really great justifications for what you believe, but mankind's understanding of the universe is imperfect by its very nature. There is no way to know for sure how the universe works. "It is my firm belief that it is wrong to hold firm beliefs." -Principia Discordia
I personally don't believe in God, but thats besides the point. You say you can't except that God would send people to hell for all eternity for say killing someone else, well aren't humans supposed to be created in Gods image, ever hear of a life sentence for murder? Ever here people describe prison as a living hell, do you see where I'm going with this? Ever read the old testimont, check out the story of Job, he was a perfect God follower and God killed his family and gave him the plague and had his home burned down to prove a point to Satan. God also told some dude to kill his only son just to see if he would do it, like for shits and giggles. He also tourched a whole city, women and children and everything because they were having sex out of wedlock and the like. Also when the world was only getting going he magiced up a big tree and told Adam and Eve not to eat the fruit from it and when Eve was feeling a bit hungry one day and took a bite he totally freaked out an banned people from heaven and kicked Adam and Eve out into the cold and turned all the animals against them, sound compasionate and forgiving to you? Didn't he also watch his own son get practicaly butchered and didn't lift a finger even when Jesus shouted out "Father, why hath thou forsaken me?" Still think he'd over look people blatantly disregarding his rules and turning up at the pearly gates saying "awwww c'mon God, be cool, let me in, I thought you were all forgiving"? I'm not trying to bum you out or anything dude, just thought I'd give my opinion, but if you're still worried about going to hell, become a Catholic, we get given the last rights on our death beds, its like a total white wash of you're sins, no questions asked, instant clean slate, hurray for Catholicism.
