Anyway, in today's news, Obama stated that he would invade Pakistan with or without that government's permission to do so, in the pursuit of terrorists.

Now I ask you...is this not the same kind of arrogance that has gotten us into trouble before?

I actually liked this man. Wouldn't mind seeing him get the Whitehouse.

If we had done it when Bin Laden first ventured over there it wouldn't have been the problem it will be today. And we send aid to Pakistan while they hide the very man Bush said he would get dead or alive. "Smoke him out." Remember our cowboy president issuing that statement. Stirring wasn't it...but what has resulted from it? NOTHING!

But not now, we are too busy upgrading Pakistan's military and nuclear arms.

Obama is just voicing what his marketers think we want to hear. Thing is we've grown up during this war, but the marketers haven't really caught up yet.

Imagine right after 09/11 if we had sent our forces into Pakistan, think they would have protected criminals hiding in their hills. Why didn't Bush do just that? Ask today's candidates that, and wait for their answers...perhaps you'll see a glimmer of the truth, or be able to flush out the liars.

You'll probably hear that we didn't have the manpower on the ground, but we used what we had to go into a war with a country that was already contained...is that a valid answer? A country that is now blamed for growing sympathies towards Al Qaeda and Hamas. They weren't capable of that until we went in...ask yourselves why our white house didn't know this was the presumptive outcome of this war, when many ex generals and veterans said as much at peace rallies before it took place. Yet the media didn't cover their statements, much as Ron Paul is invisible today.

Credit Obama for trying to get his hands around a serious issue; it may have been clumsy. Then again the whole issue is a lot deeeper and nuanced than a couple of slogans can sum up.
