Hey all I was hoping someone would know where to buy wheat grass seed in Canada. Specifically Hard red winter wheat variety. I went to the local health food shop but all they had was wheat grass cubes. I just bought a juicer so would like to grow my own. I bought 1lb off ebay but at $10 US shipped per lb that will get expensive. I have seen places in the US that sell 25 and 50lb bags for cheap so just seeing if anyone has a hookup here in Ontario. Thanks.

will the shop order bulk wheat? it's usually in bins.
Don't ask for grass seed, that, like many sprouting seeds, is a sure-fire way to get "tourist packs" of overpriced seeds.

Buying online shouldn't be so bad... If you buy a whole bunch at once you should be able to save on shipping. Try a bulk-foods website... They sell the same stuff but greater amounts at a better price. Don't worry about buying a lot at once... I've grown wheat grass from wheat berries that were over six years old with an approximate 75% germination rate. The stuff lasts forever, and if you get tired of growing grass you can grind it to make bread or something.
