Help with lighting for seeds please

Hi,

my seeds are currently just a few days old now and a couple of cm tall. They are growing underneath the cooker hood light, I have a 400w light ready to turn on, my question is:

when do I put the seeds under the daddy light? Should I do it now to encourage growth? If so how high should the light be away?

My personal preference is at 8 to 10 days after they germinate. 24 hrs on, keep the lamp 18" away.

 

I'd wait till youre sure that the heat wont kill the babies... you should either wait longer and have a light that doesn't get hot on them in the meantime, or have it really really really far away... and that's all assuming that you don't already have a way of cooling them or monitoring the temp.. but that's just what I think
