Asafa Powell is the world record holder for the 100m sprint. He has run the exact time of 9.77 seconds three times (which is the world record). This got me thinking... is there a limit to the human body? Obviously we cannot keep breaking our records, chipping off the hundreds of a second until the 100m sprint is run in under 2 seconds... so there must be a majical number, a speed that no human will ever run faster than. 9.77 probably isn't it... but do you think we will know it when it comes?

I don't think there is a magical number. evolution. Something that runs it in under 2 secs wouldnt look very human lol.

On another note, I'm surprised they havent increased the sig figs on the records. You could still have all 9.77Xs be the record but in the future you could distinguish between 9.762 and 9.768 or something like that.
