I would set it on fire, and use the ashes as fertilizer. Or, mulch it, and make your own new paper.

some companies pay good money for office paper: it can be made into more office paper of start going down on the "grade" scale.
    look for local recyclers.
also if the back is clean, cut the pages in quarters and make your own scratch pads.

Don't you know? Go google "Problem Solving Flowchart," and if I am not mistaken, "throw it away" is one of the suggested remedies. It's rather humorous and hopefully not to be taken too seriously. You start at the top with a "problem," and it asks such questions as "Did you touch it?," "Can you blame it on somebody else?," "Does anybody know?," etc. No? Then throw it away. The flow then falls through to the bottom where it reads "No Problem."

Shredders are the in thing for every home and office here in the states. Shred them and use them wrap or pad packages or mulch your garden.

I don't know if I'd use office grade paper for mulch. I don't actually have much of a green thumb, but don't they treat the paper so that it's as white as it is? Might that not be good for plants, especially food crops?

As an alternative, you can look up recycling centers in your neighborhood right in the yellow pages (or the online yellow pages or superpages, either offers distance searches from your address, too). I know there's one only a few blocks from my house, so maybe you have one that's similarly close. Call them up and ask if they'll recycle your big box o' paper.

Also, while you have them on the phone, ask if they'll take your old batteries. Throwing those things away is far, far worse than throwing away a crate full of processed wood pulp.

Heh...maybe I should start a thread on that.

be constructive! take the paper and shred it, and then make paper mache things. Thats what I do, I dont like throwing things away, mostly on the account that I figure I can always use it for something in the furture and as you guessed it I dont and it just sits here, you should see my apartment lol
