I'm curious to know what kind of engagement rings or wedding bands you guys have (or have given). Do you have traditional rings or something unique? Anyone have family heirloom rings on their fingers? Simple or fancy? cheap or expensive? Tell me about your rings!
mine and my husbands were made by his grandfather... they are goldish tone with unique egiptian writting on them... mine says women his says man... they are cool
my older sister actually gave me her rings from her first marriage. they are beautiful, and i think they cost a couple of grand many years ago when she got them.they are gold with 28 channel set diamonds, and one big solitare. they are not, however what i would have picked, if i had been paying for them myself. i would have gotten something simpler, maybe just a white gold band. i can't see spending that kinda cash on a ring, and anyway, i'm not usually so much into status symbols (my sister is.) at any rate, it was a sweet gesture, one of the few that my sister has made in recent years. she's quite a lot older than me, and she said that she has always felt sort of like she was my mom. my husband has a thick gold band. looking at my rings has made me realize how filthy they are. ick, i need to clean them. they aren't sparkly anymore.
I have a diamond engagement ring that sits in the wedding band. So if you turn my finger over it looks like three rings. I love it. We have yet to get married, but I wear them anyway. They are too big, so I wear my Irish wedding band infront of them. I don't think I ever want to get them sized because I love the combination.
something we'll pick out together .. a round tanzanite solitaire.. maybe ringed with diamonds in a white gold setting I think for the engagement ring. plain simple wedding bands though.. white gold is very in fashion in the UK at the moment .
my engagement ring and wedding band are both white gold. the band was a 3/4 of a karet of diamonds spread over it and the ring is only 1/2 karet. simple but pretty. im prolly gonna get a new engagement ring through in a year...a trade in.
The ring from my ex fiance was a 14k white gold replica of a 1940's ring called, "Old world style". I love antique rings, but I don't really like diamonds, or high-prices, so this worked for me. My current boyfriend has his mother's engagement ring, but he won't show me until the time is right.
I used to go to the DeBeer's site and build my own diamond ring... I don't know if you can still do that, but it was cool.
