If you're ever in Las Cruces, drop me a message. And you can come n see me. Thank you all for the suppport. Revolution is not just in my hands It's in the hands of all the people Without people I can't do it So I love you all
Man you have to believe in your self oh and what is the name of the band you must have a revoultion every 20 years you should protest about envionment to John lennon would be proud of you iam in VIVA REVOULTION PEACE
You have my support 100%...I've said this to myself and others about every day, minute, and second of my life. I think there should be a revolution. It's a must. I know that we could change the world, it's only a matter of time. I wasn't alive in the sixties...but I believe it's because I'm supposed to help start the revolution of today. Everyone thinks I'm strange, but perhaps one day I'll get them to understand. "They've got the guns but we've go the numbers"-Jim Morrison (one of my many inspirations)
Dont forget! psychedelic music is alot of blues. you better be learnin to play the blues. and folk. and country.. maybe some funk. maybe even pick up the sitar.
All you young dreamers, take the time read the entire thread, you are buying into an image, nothing more. Want a new Woodstock, make your own, and don't call it that or have it at Woodstock...been done, old hat. Make it something new and different. And don't buy into a story, which is just that.
well what he's saying is for us to actually do something instead of just wasting time on our computers talking about it. All those stoned, acid-heads of the 60's did nothing for the peace movement and should not be remembered as such. It was the people in the streets who were making the difference, the Civil Rights movement of the early 60's, the Vietnam Vets protesting, these were the people making a difference. We have to do something, but something new, and we just can't call it "The New Woodstock Revolution" because that's bullshit. Peace isn't, but calling it that and holding on to old values is. John Lennon himself said "So flower power didn't work, so we try something else" And he couldn't have been more correct than right now in this moment.
Actually, I have been doing something. We (me and Bob and some people) are organizing a peace concert. We plan to raise over 1000 dollars for the organization we decide on (something to do with the promotion of peace) with an overnight festival on private acres It's just an idea right now But with the right planning it could soon be put into action
woah man...Peace and Love, right? You're obviously not getting his, or my point. He's on the side of the cause, but he's saying that we need to do it our way, and not the way they did it in the 60's. You have to drop the 60's dream. Did the 60's hippies achieve world peace? No, so obviously their method didn't work. Ours might, might not..but it obviously can't be the same 60's method. You have to get out of the Lennon-utopian ideal, because his method also didn't work. Listen to the Beatles, yes, even live your life based on their music, but just because Lennon was Lennon, it doesn't mean he was the smartest man in the world with the best ideas for peace. Some of his ideas were brilliant, and some of them were idiotic disasters. You have to realize that, man.
wow i don't think you can change the world and do all that by your self. i think im with the older people here. don't copy woodstock make up something new. a lot of this just sounds like you're in a dream world. and i love john lennon but what you said about him being beside you sounded a little creepy for some reason
Sorry, not relics, not a joke, who cares hows society looks upon them, and yes DO SOMETHING PEOPLE. Get involved, force government reform, we are the power of this country, take it back! Vote, protest, petition, march, donate, and oh yeah, did I mention VOTE! Do not get caught up in the notion that your vote does not count. Politicians spend millions for your vote. Make them earn it. But most importantly, stay informed with the FACTS. Not propaganda, from Washington to PETA. From the Religious right to Greenpeace. Get the FACTS. Do not believe everything you hear. Rant over, Peace everyone,
A moment of frustration on JohnLennonPeaces part, I am sure, but could you qualify your statement of John Lennon being a hypocrite? Just wanted to know where you got that impression.
I'm tired of putting down celebrities for living an expensive lifestyle. If any of these people had all that money, they'd be living it up too. You can't knock someone for speding the money they earn. And Chapman was a mind-controlled CIA assassin. Research.
Any of you rally serious about a new Woodstock, the farmer has some of his land up for sale, in fact the part where woodstock took place, buy it.
seriously, gardener and The AmanuensisOfGod are right. you cant just hijack some old ideas and old methods that already failed and expect them to work. you gotta try different methods.plus calling some "revolutionary concert" woodstock would look like some kind of sellout thing to make money. did either of the other woodstocks work? no. and neither will this one. gshdgns is right. change wont be made by some holy concert. you gotta petition, protest, vote. and try to bring yourself to peace before you try and change the world to peace. try to meditate, control your emotions, maybe go on a psychedelic induced shamanistic experiance. and no one at age 16 or 17 has done that. fuck, most 17 year olds can even grow a full beard. if the wright bros. kept trying the same design for an airplane over and over and refusing to change it, would we have airplanes now? no. the same hippy movement wont catch on and it wont change anything. what you have to do is somehow show kids that you dont need you $50 bill in your pcket to feel good, you dont need your PS3 and high definition TV to have fun. you dont need to have a phD and get a $200,000 annual pay to live a full, fulfilling life. THAT is where you start.
