One Hundred Years Of Solitude

    Anybody else read it?

    I found it to be a very interesting read. Very different but also very interesting. The novel's only downfall is the confusing names (all of the characters' names are repetitions of ancestors' from earlier in the book.)

    I love it. Gabriel Garcia Marquez is a great writer.

    I think you really get wrapped inside the story.

    I liked Love in the Time of Cholera better. :)
    But, what I really love are his short stories. The Very Old Man with Enormous Wings. The Handsomest Drowned Man in the World. Amazing.

    I've read One Hundred Years of Solitude about 8 times. I love it and for years it was my favorite novel but then I read Midnight's Children and that was it for me. The repetition of names needn't be confusing ... the family is the living entity in the book - the family members are almost incidental.

    could someone tell me what this book is about, maybe i will try and find it and give it a read.
