I was messing with the settings on my laptop, to change what it does when I close the lid (IE nothing) but I noticed after I did that, that now when I log out, close my lid, open my lid, my screen resolution is HUGE. wth? Any suggestions becuase it's really doing my head in having to reset my resolution everytime I log into my computer.

    screen resolution is HUGE

by that i assume you mean everything looks larger - which means infact your resolution is tiny - it means something is managing youyr settings other than windows - probably some graphics card software that was installed with the drivers
take a look in the apps tray (bottom right hand corner of screen) chech all your icons by doubleclicking them until you see that one of them is something to do with graphics card - i believe you will find what youre looking for there
unfortunately to advise any further I would have to know what graphics chip is installed

BTW what happened to RonaldMcdonald ?? I cant find any references to him tho he is banned and also last week he left his job apparently so I havent seen him - he was a good bloke in life and a real wit - used to have his workmates in tears of laughter - I met him a couple of times and told him about this place

I looked, but I don't see an icon pertaining to graphics. :(
A warning pop up thing as to why the resolution is changed comes up when I open the laptop but it's so fast, I don't really know what it says.
I can't seem to fix this for the life of me.

Oh and I have a feeling RM isn't to far away.

yes... i know how to change it back... but everytime I log out and log back in I have to change it again, and I shouldn't. It shouldn't change on it's own.

The only thing I could think of trying would be to re-install your video card driver.
