I was trying new rhyme schemes as well as word structures...

Questions on the riverbank ripple through
    My mind, Citrus Siren serenading
Whispers filter, passion flares, bringing bloom
The shallows of the darkest void, waking
    Inspiration, hidden intuition
Because life doesn’t stand around waiting
Watching me foster inch by inch in
    These absurdist nocturnal tendencies
    Denying my desire’s fruition
    With tiny little hammers festering
My perception and I can’t brush the leaves
Away and feel I’m not surrendering
    Because I don’t know what’s reality
    In the moment, mindless, oblivious
Craving whatever that is out of reach
Shedding ladybugs out from the flora
    Lonely, lusting spite of Aphrodite
    Shadows on an invisible aura
    Taking tiny little hammers prying
Into the shallows of the darkest void
    Citrus Princess distressed, liquefying
Forcing deaf ears to listen to the noise
For what it is, recognize the patter
Even though in the end there is no point
To make or defend, it doesn’t matter
But we waste our breath in all the clamor
