Went looking for them. Found these ones. The brown topped ones look very similar to some I've seen on the net, and they also have the blue bruising going on. I'm not sure on the other ones. Can anyone please identify them all for me. It would be much appreciated. IMAGE: http://i7.tinypic.com/4u4u8eg.jpg
Some of them looks like Liberty caps for me. But I'm not good at identifying shrooms!! You should make spore prints before eating them! Go to www.shroomery.org if you don't know how to make spore prints.
What will spore printing do for me? Is there a site that has spore prints for all mushrooms to identify ?
Okay cool. And what of the other purpley ones that are there? (Those other than the brown capped shrooms)
Hey, those LIGHT brown shrooms reminds me Liberty caps, not the darker ones which are in the bottom of your picture! You should wait for some more experienced hunters to bring you to the right way. Look, there are some pictures of the Liberty caps http://rotten.splane.ru/images/PS.jpg http://adamsonian.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/12/300px-psilocybe_semilanceata.jpg
Okay awesome mate! Thanks heaps! Yeah the ones I have are definiely a VERY -LIGHT- brown! So everyone of them seems to be magic thus far.. But I'll just wait for more opinions then!!
Those do sound like active ones, but you can never be too sure. Just because they look like a picture doesn't mean they're ok to eat. There are many varieties of mushrooms out there, and there are more poisonous than edible. Please do the following: 1) Record the wheather conditions/season in the area you found the mushrooms 2) Record what the mushrooms were growing on 3) Take approximate measurements of the stem and cap 4) Give a full colour description of the stem, cap, gills and bruising (if any) 5) Record wheather the gills are attached or loose 6) Record the physical properties of the stem (hollow, thick etc.) 7) Take a spore print of each mushroom cap 8) Take clear digital photos of the whole shroom, the top and underneith it 9) Post all this information in an ID request on a forum such as this one or shroomery.org. 10) Good luck!
The rest on the plate are non active, NOT liberty caps. However the two larger ones with caramel caps and obvious blue bruising/bluing at the bottom of your pictures are possibly active Psilocybe Azurescens or Cyanescens. Do NOT eat any of them until you have a 100% ID from the Shroomery and spore prints. Do some research online, take a spore sprint, and post an ID request on www.shroomery.org in the Mushroom Hunting forum. There are experts there willing to help you. You can make a spore print by cutting off one of the stems of the caramel capped ones, and taking the cap and putting it on a piece of white paper. Leave it there without disturbing it for about 24 hours ideally. Take a good, crisp, up close, true-to-color picture of the spore print, and go make an ID request on the above mentioned site. Colimon had good advice, make sure you put every bit on habitat information you can think of. There is a guide for ID requests on www.shroomery.org
Hahaha Be careful man. I'd say the same as others, take as much info as possible and ask on Shroomery. Someone there could help you. The lighter brown ones don't look like any magic mushrooms that I've ever seen, but I surely haven't seen them all. The dark brown ones look a lot bigger then normal Liberty Caps. If either of those turn out to be Psylocibin mushrooms, make spore prints so you can plant new cultures.
Be extremely careful, some of those could be poisonous lookalikes. But, some of those look definately active. Go to the shroomery's mushroom hunting forum and ask the experts for an ID request. Also post: spore prints from each type of mushroom, pictures of the mushrooms, colour description, physical description of the stem, where you found it and what you found it on. Good luck, looks like you've hit the jackpot with some of those!
