Now, it suddenly crossed my mind that people sometimes claim that: "God answered my prayers" when they have got something they apparantly asked for. This made me wonder: How do you know it is the actual christian god as described in the bible that is answering your prayers, if he/she/it did that in the first place? How can you tell for sure that it *is* that god and not another from perhaps another religion, or perhaps from no religion at all? Just wondering, perhaps you are hounouring the wrong god, but he/she/it is so nice to forgive you for it and actually still help you out, despite your mistake.
^ seriously if you have nothing to contribute to a thread, or dont know what to say, dont reply with stupid posts, thnx. @FedUp: True, but I was more looking for a statement of a Christian as in how they can be sure which god answered their prayers, I mean, there has to be some kind of feeling I would assume... (or well... looking at christianity, perhaps I am being naive) "Or maybe it's just something that hapened, having NOTHING to do with God at all." Hence why I put: *if* he/she/it did it in the first place
Not everybody prays and asks for something. My prayer during meditation is more like connecting with God, and what else more could I ever ask for? I dont care for any material things, and the way people are is the way people are, nothing is going to change that. Though there have been countless reports of people having deadly diseases and focusing on God only to have them suddenly cured as if the disease never existed in them, but I tend to think that has more to do with the karmic energy we push out into the world, and not exactly divine intervention ... ~
Why would God do such a thing? I think if you dont believe on reincarnation then you cant ever really understand why God is realized by people who devote themselves to getting in tune with God. It's with anything else, even in this physical world, we have to study and feel things in order to be able to grasp them. And this is what the Christian religion has gotten rid of, because if people really were getting in tune with God, they could no be controlled by fear.
Was meditation not going deeply into your OWN thoughts and focussing on something, rather then connecting to something else, it will still always be your brains, will it not?
Yes, if you dont know what you are doing. You first have to understand that the brain is simply an organ, and the mind is not contained to it. The essence of the mind, that is. Nor is it outside, or in between. If it was in the mind, how come you cant see the inside of you? If it is outside, how come you cant see your face? It is not real, it is an illusion, and this can be understood when meditating and leaving the illusion to attain God realization ~
