I recently watched the movie "fast food nation" and it mademe give up fast food for good, havent had it in about two and a half months. This scene is the most sad, cruel and moving part of the movie. it is very graphic but this is how Mc D gets their meat. http://youtube.com/watch?v=n_BTYg2-xMU
It looks cruel how they kill the cows... Hopfully they don't feel too much pain. Is this how all meat is proscesed? Or just fast food?
not gonna watch it. I've ben a vegetarian for a year, and I can't bring myself to watch the stuff. Glad people put it out though, because it's something people need to know, but try to pretend it's not real
Yea. Here in Finland nobody (except pot heads) eat's in Mc Donalds. God i won't eat ever in Mc Donalds.
Oh my God! I couldn't actually watch it after the cow had been tazed...or whatever it was. That's sick! I also heard that Mcdonalds cut down the rainforests for cattle grazing. Does anyone know if that's true?
yes that is how cattle are killed in many nations. It's how the company treats people that makes it particularly heinous.
i think the whole industry should just be closed down; for the simple fact of they contribute to a large portion(irony)-of the world's obesity. especially here in the usa. and, the animals! i had to watch what they do to their chickens,....it's awful. i've been veg. for 2 years now, and i won't ever go back.
I want to start this out by saying, I am not trying to start anything, and I can fully understand why people do not eat meat. Some will not eat it for health reasons of red meat being unhealthy, and then there are others who do not eat it do to the whole animal rights which I dont know much about the topic so i wont pretend i do. BUT I do want to say the way they butcher the cows in that video was very clean and professional, I didnt see anything wrong with the way they did it. One thing I dont agree with is starving the animal prior to it's death. I do agree how ever on raising animals for food only. I grew up on a semi farm my grandfather owned, and they use to butcher cows, chickens, rabbits, turkeys, and pigs, and the way they use to kill the animals were a lot worse then I seen in the video. The key is to try to do it quick so the animal wont suffer. The one thing I always disagreed with growing up is how they killed the animals. Other then that what I seen in that video was a better way then what your local farmers are doing to butcher animals..... I dont agree with the fact of starving or torturing the animal before killing them. Quick, easy, and painless is the best way.... I am not an expert on butchering animals, but I did see it done and help many times, and I would have prefered to be in that slotter house where they were. Again I dont want to start anything. I understand everyone has there own reasons for not eating meat. But one thing is for sertin, no one will ever get the entire world to shut down slotter houses, and to stop the eating of meat, and all that. I just think that the torture to animals should stop. But pretty much all animal's (farm related) are ment to be food.... Hope I didnt piss anyone off with my opinon......
Well, I must admit that I'm at a crossroads. I'm all about animals, but I'm also all about the spicy chicken sandwich (with bacon and cheese please), a large chili with cheese, and some sweetened ice tea. Tough world.
Whats wendys?? I didn't watch it and nor do i want to but i don't get it - ppl eat calves and pigs so why is it disgusting to eat dogs or puppies etc its double standards!! But im a veggitarion so I've never touched one of those burgers...
