and this thought suddenly occured to me:

Why the hell does temperature effect taste? And what makes something "hot" or "cold"? I understand that it has to do with how fast molecules are moving but why am I able to feel the speed of molecules?

    Someone help me out...

no clue how it affects taste, but i'm guessing you feel the molecules moving due to friction maybe?

Friction just brings me to another question: Why does it feel "hot" when there is more friction?

Damn these ridiculous questions that I think of when I'm stoned.

I want to say it has something to do with the sensitivity of nerves and perhaps our survival as an ancient people, though why I really can't say. hmmm.... Not much help really but after reading cold mashed potaoes four times, I really had to say something.
