I have a medium plot about 20' from a lake. I have been looking for a treadle pump or any kind of water pump that can be operated with hand or foot power instead of loud motor. (these I am assuming have a tube that can reach to where I want the water to go, I am still not exactly sure how they work) I have found info but nowhere to purchase or even prices. I have read about putting holes in 5 gallon buckets and keep them filled with water and water soluble fertilizer. Right now I have to go through dense brush to get to the lake which is used by boaters all day. Even if I can get back and forth one bucket at a time does not suffice to say the least. Also it is hard to fill up a 5 gallon bucket from the shore line since water level is so not deep. Have also heard about tying rope on bucket and throwing it out then pulling it in. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I think the pump is the best bet but I cant find one. I do not really want to build one since it does not sound very easy. We have had no rain for quit some time and all leaves are drooping to the extreme. I did add polymer crystals to the soil when I planted at beginning of season. also any suggestions on some water soluble fertilizer would be cool. I did not test the soil when i planted. it was a very sandy soil that i added a mixture of top soil, organic miracle grow, and worm castings. thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.

im not sure bout all that pump stuff, but, though it is a pain in the ass have you tried siphoning water say from a hose it aint the best way or the easy way but, hell it will save you the trips so you don't get seen, i mean once you get the water goin you should be able to water them all, just a thought, good luck.

you could bring a couple 5 gal jugs with you from home or the store depending on how many plants you have.

I did think about that but haven't tried it yet. Can you still siphon if the water level is not above where you want the water to go? I have never siphoned gas or anything so may be dumb question but just wondering. We did get some rain today......about an 1/8" so obviosly that still hasn;t helped me. Right now I'm planning ongoing in the early am to do it the hard way but hopefully I get a better idea before then

try www.handpumps.com, maybe to pump water up to spot but kinda risky cause you'd be pumpin by the water unless u act like your fishin, also i found a site www.nextag.com it had a battery operated liquid transfer pump looks like it might work and it's about 20 bucks, it's worth a look to save you time and stress, good luck bro.

ive heard of a method where you basically get a bucket and mix inside it some top soil and water and you drill a hole in the bottom about like a 32md or 64th of an inch hole. You then plave the bucket next to you plant with the hole by the stem of you plant. This makes it so water leaks out slowly. The only problem with this is that marijuana likes dry periods and this, depending on the size of the bucket, would give it a slow continous water supply for about a week or so.
