I've always been a bit of a conspiracy fan; they are great fun to read.

But I do get a little worried about the conspiracy theorists.

Okay, it is obvious that throughout history many a powerful group or individual have gotten away with doing bad stuff. It is also obvious that powerful people do "conspire" today.

But that's just the way it is.

I have never read a conspiracy theory that holds water. Sure plenty prove that what we are told in the media is not the truth. But they never manage to prove something different.

Perhaps as I have managed to be in the media a few times and seen how events I participated in have been spun or how through the process of chinese whispers up the channels the truth, as I saw it, was not reported.

But that isn't evidence for some deliberate plot. It just happens.

It seems to me that conspiracy theorists gather together a list of events where the truth was hidden, not reported or distorted and then try to lnk all these facts together to create a conspiracy.

This is kind of ignorant of the way the world works in terms of action.

Sorry, but if the sum of your experience of something is reading it on the net you really won't understand the above sentence. But when you have been involved in important events you KNOW that things happen and there is no way shadowy figures pulled strings to make that happen.

Much of this conspiracy theorising smacks of anti semitism, is unquantified and driven by premeditated hypothesise.

The pursuit of truth is a noble thing.

But to spend ones time joining the dots to create a conspiracy is a waste of this precious thing we have called life.

We have the ability to create the reality we wish to live in.

I suggest people should choose to use their life making the reality they wish to see rather than reading and theorising about what the bad guys are doing.

    Anyway, just some thoughts.

    Cheers
    J

There is truth in what you're saying. There are conspiracy theorists, and you are right about them. I, however, am not a conspiracy theorist. Let me explain the difference.

A conspiracy theorist is someone like you describe. Someone who's obsessed with conspiracies and who uses them to define themself. These people will always seek out conspiracy theories, whether there is anything there or not.

Then, there are people like me. I didn't go looking for conspiracies, I just stumbled onto it. I wish it wasn't true, but it is, and we have to do something about it. I'm interested in knowing the truth about what's happening in the world I live in, and to do that, you really need to understand how these secret networks operate. They influence nearly every major thing that happens on this planet. That's simple fact, if you've done the research, which, in fairness to you, you haven't.

Now, in the event that this network is cast down and people become free, I won't look back. A conspiracy theorist would still be looking for conspiracies, because that's how they define themselves. If I feel certain that the conspiracy has been dealt with, then there's no more need to think about it. I don't define myself that way. I have a lot more on my mind than that. I'm a musician. I write songs. I'm hoping to take that somewhere. I'm not just sitting around worrying about the Illuminati. But they are a fact, and until they're dealt with, I will continue to monitor their activities on a casual basis.

Oh, yes... it's all just coincidence and we have just simply evolved to where we are today. Nevermind the old dusty books where the agenda is written out for those with eyes to see. Everything is just dandy, and all that happens in the world simply happens by itself and without reason... wars, famines, etc. There is nothing more to life than what we see with our two eyes, so it's better to just go back to sleep because your masters know what's best.

MorningManiacMusic, I would add that it is a good thing the USA is being deindustrialized, the unions are being busted, and that pesky middle class is being elimintated. It is also good that protective tarifs have been removed and the ability to create them is now being controlled by the WTO.
Yeah I feel a lot better, and I started feeling better after I got the Lobotomy.
    Try it, you'll like it.

First of all, im not gonna get into this really, but its wierd to me that anti-semitism is getting alleged of people all the time these days while no one stops to think that the government of the US might be a little bit oh i dont know ANTI-ISLAMIC don't you think...oh wait...

Conspiracy theory in and of it self is serving the interest of the ruling elite (regardless of wether or not they happen to be members of secret societies (which many of them do)) by taking the focus away from the fact the world is being run in an oppressive fashion and has been for centuries.

Basically, HippyDragon, it seems to me that your saying we should just not question whats going and accept it because we can't change it. That will elaborate on itself for people who know what im saying. I'm not gonna argue about politics here, I can tell that would be an utter waste of time, but what im saying is that people who are in power DONT have our best interests in mind (us being those who are not) and we SHOULD question them hassle them harass them until they do. The reason this isnt happening on an everybody everywhere basis already is because people in general think everything is alright because the major shaping decisions in our society are taking place in secret.

The anti-Semitism card is a typical establishment tactic of getting people to shut up. It's been used since the 50's to marginalize anyone who dare question the version of reality that's given to them in television and magazines.

I completly agree with this thread, (except maybe the jew link, though i see where your going with it).

I'm in a job that is considered part of the establishment. Though in the UK and not the US.

I have been (though obviously at a very low level) in most major UK events since 1995, including during and post 9/11. And the world is just not how conspiracy theorists believe it to be.

Yes of course society does not exist in a vacuum, thats why we have such a complex global society. Communism for example did not just emerge one day in with no history.

But theirs no 'global conspiracy' there are no secret networks pulling the strings and our western governments are not trying to mind control us.

Yes different political organisations have different agenda's, and the best method to those you dont agree with is to take up the counter arguement against them. Not make up some crazy story why they are like that.

The Arab radicals will tell you it is the Jews.
The Jewish radicals will tell you it is the Arabs.
Pressed Rat may tell you it is both of then and others who are controled by a vast powerful conspiricy (of Jesuits and Freemasons?).

But really, it is all under the control of the English Crown. I mean it.

A conspiracy can be the truth, it's the conspiracy theory that's a question. However when facts start coming out about the "theory" than it stops being a theory and is now a Conspiracy Fact.

    Examples:

    9/11
    Iraq
Iran (Soon to be but you can see it with th news pushing it so hard)
    Elections
    Gas Prices
    So many more....

I have no trouble slamming Israel for it's policys concerning the Palestinians or it's influence on US policy in the region.

To do so it NOT anti-semitism.

As long as Israel gets US aid (For over 50 years now), they need to account to me as a US taxpayer where the money is going.

I don't like what I'm seeing over there.

Well I feel alot safer knowing that you with you're "low level UK establishment job" have looked into world history and the sources of power that has shaped it and was able to determine that everyone who has ever questioned it has been wrong.

You don't have to be sending Israel money to dislike what they are doing, being anti-israel because you disagree with their policies is being political, it's only anti-semitisim if you are anti-israel because of it's jewish population.

There are many who cannot separate the two.

The secular zionists who run Israel will waste no time in calling you an anti-semite if you badmouth Israel for any reason.

When they use my taxpayer money to bulldoze people's houses, you are in effect doing it in my name. I resent that.

It is an effective way to silence opposition to the policies of the nation state known as Israel.

Reform Judaism did not always require one to love Israel. It could be argued that veneration of a place is idolatry, like the idolatery that lead to the destruction of the second temple. Thus it is not needed to love the nation state that is in the middle east.
But the Mossad has fixed that.

Ray Faraday Nelson told me he wrote They Live in an afternoon.
He also said that the fight scene by the dumpsters was not his idea.

It's these diatribes that make your typical every day American look a buffoon. Blanket assumptive statements are made (based solely on faith alone) without the smallest shred of fact-based evidence to back it up. In fact it resemebles how the corporate media behaves...just take it from us, we know! Don't ask HOW we know, just accept that we DO because we're "the most trusted name in news"!

Sorry, but ya got to dig a little deeper.
