I dont know about other parts of the world, but here in the US I am tired of what I am seeing on the media. Whenever im trying to watch TV, I keep seeing these anti-pot public service announcements. however, they never have any facts or anything to prove their point. I usually just laugh at their stupidity, but then other people that dont smoke actually think their bullshit is real.

i saw one today where a guy was smoking pot and his dog was staring at him. The guy said to his dog, "hey i can stop smoking pot whenever i want." the dog said, how about now, and the guy replied, "next week is better." then the dog said, "You disappoint me" and walked off.

So i had a stoned idea once, and i want to see who is with me. maybe i am wrong, but what if there were commercials sponsered by NORML or pro-legalization indivduals that put together some commercials. We could actually give facts. We can try to change the public opinion of marijuana.

next year my buddies at school at making a legalize pot club, and we are going to try to change the public opinion. pro-legalization commercials telling people to think for themselves, not what the government wants you to think. that could do something man.

i think you're off to a great start, i saw that commercial the other day, and i find it rediculous that they just tell us that it's bad and we shouldn't do it, but give us no reasons why, and if they do it's all the negative side affects, they never list the good that can come from marijuana use.

i'm not for all out pro-legalization commercials, because i doubt they'd get on the air, but i think they should have commercials that give ALL the facts and let the public make up their own opinion about marijuana and it's use, and then after 6 months of these advertisements have a referendum (if that's the correct term) and see what the public's idea is on whether or not marijuana should be legal. they'd be able to make an informed decision after hearing the facts and be able to vote conciously and we'd end up with a decision that reflected the public opinion

put good on ya man, get out there, try and change something, i'll support you

and i do think that if they're going to put MADD commercials on tv, let NORML put out some, so people can hear both sides

i'm against legalization, because that's just another thing we'll be taxed on and will be mixed with chemicals to make it addictive so we buy more, i believe it should be decriminalized so that you get no charges if your posession is under a certain amount.

There are basically afew huge problems in the way of legalization.
Parents; whenever peoples kids start doing anything that the gov. or the church doesnt like it will make parents angry and scared. The majority of parents are straight laced and believe what they are told by the gov. because the gov is in charge and the news is flooded with about 15 tragic drug relating stories each year and it ignores everything else. You need a way for people who PARENTS RESPECT to appear in commercials about the 750,000 or so lives that are destroyed each year due to a possesion of marijuana convction. A good example would be to take the 5 year old boy whos mother was shot in front of him while holding her newborn infant becasue there was suspicion that she was in possesion of marijuana. Another idea would be to make it apparent that thousands are killed BECAUSE drugs are illegal (those killed by columbian drug lords for example).

In addition to this it must be proven to parents that the media is a bunch of lies and they must understand the real dangers or lack of dangers involved with each particular drug. I believe it is possible for parents to be on the same side as drug users if they were shown the detrimental effects illegalization of drugs has on families or aging youth. Parents need to be shown that drug use wont destroy their childs lives if they respect drugs and are careful. All in all, a bunch of drug users wont be able to change anything. You need families or very good (older) people to appear and tell their stories. If it were possible to have such people appear on talk shows (oprah ect.) it would probably be very beneficial toward legalization.

Marijuana is bad for you. It gives you red eyes (unless you adapt like I have, because I don't use visine), It reduces your aggressive drive (less hostility), It lowers two major regions in your brain (but increases activity in the rest), and you can't overdose on clean marijuana. If you Can't overdose, It must be horrible for you, I mean, potatoes are healthy for you, and if you eat ten of them raw, you get potassium overdose, and with water, if you drink to much you burst the blood cells in your viens. Thats horrible, and it reduces pain, I mean, what would Jesus do if he didn't feel pain on the cross? What would the romans have done if they sat down with Jesus and smoked a joint with him. Chatted about philosophy. Marijuana is for sinners. Marijuana is the devil. Marijuana is bad, enough said. It grows naturally. Its naturally evil. Its very useful, its usefully evil. Im going to go kill things, and rag on marijuana while i count my money for blowing up countries that have stuff I want.

most parents aren't straight laced, just those that are get together and say stuff. Thats why they are small pressure groups. Saying stuff, and making a point goes far in a society that doesnt care about voting. anyone that does can impact the rest of the society

I saw that commercial the other day. To tell you the truth it pissed me off, but to be honest it shouldn't. IT IS JUST SHOWING US OUR FREEDOM OF CHOICE. So by them doing that, they are trying to imply that marijuana is addictive. There is no addiciton in marijuana. ONLY CHOICE!!! WE CHOOSE TO SMOKE IT AND WE ARE PROUD OF IT!!!! I totally agree with you. We all need to show our voice in this controversy. There are always 2 sides to stories. Lets show them the true side !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
