Im a big fan of every sort of metal ( excep power, extreme, speed and genres like that).
Death, black, thrash, melodeath and so on..
And now i don't have anything to listen too.. and are in big need of bands quick :)
Anyways if you got something like Opeth, Dark Tranquillity, bloodbath, korn, slipknot, dimmu, sepultura, satyricon, Amon, Arise, At the gates, Devildriver, JFAC, Lamb of god, Naglfar.

Now there you have much different things to choose on..
    Got anything like them?

    Thanks

    Heard them all.. Though i don't like classical-forrest-satanistic-gogoBlastbeatsftw-yell-cutN'slash-blackmetal :)
Not gotten into that.. you know mayhem, emperor, burzum and dark funeral style (yes i know DF isn't like them, but i don't like them neither :) ).
But the rest of the bands you wrote are great.

    Bolt Thrower <3

Well my two favorite metal bands that I like to listen to now is Symphony X, which is kind of heavy/progressive/symphonic metal. And Dream Theater, but their stuff can vary a lot, but it's mostly Progressive Metal and the such. Dream Theater's new CD has some killer heavy metal tracks though (The Dark Eternal Night is 9 minutes of amazing). Symphony X's new CD is pretty much pure metal bliss as well.

    Bathtub Shitter.

Even though I would have suggested Bathtub Shitter even if you said that you were heavily into the Backstreet Boys.

Stop listening to what you're listening. NOW. In fact, delete your music collection, and throw away all your cds.

Next, buy - yes, BUY - these albums:

    Lunar Aurora - Andacht
Peste Noire - La sanie des siècles - panégyrique de la dégénérescence
    Silencer - Death, pierce me

These three albums will be the only ones you will need for the rest of your life.

    Light one up, and ENJOY.

Obviously you will have to disregard all other posters. It's for your own good. Trust me. Have I ever let you down? Well then.

This whole genre-picky thing is really quite rediculous. Try everything and listen to what you like,it's that simple.

Sorry.. Don't do bands that isn't singing in english...
Lol.. its fun that you suggest one death metal band, one black and then one metalcore band^^
Though silencer was pretty good.. But not wow good.. Nothing special.
Sounds like all these metalcore bands invading the world..
Im getting pretty sick of those bands -.-

None of the bands I mentioned are metalcore (I hate metalcore), and none are death metal (I hate death metal). Lunar Aurora is black metal, Peste Noire is black metal, and Silencer is black metal (and personally I think Silencer is pretty fucking WOW).

Why exactly do you need your bands to sing in English? You'll be missing out on plenty of quality metal as most of my current favourites sing in French, German and Swedish (your mother tongue if I'm not mistaken).

reverand maynard: that was mostly for a point of direction of what im listening too now.. Your welcome to suggest other kinds of bands..
hailtothekingbaby: just searched on youtube, and what i got from lunar was death metal, and from silencer i got metalcore.
Because i want to know what theyre singing.. Otherwise i think its pointless, because then its just music.. Which is fine, but like it more with vocals with words that i know of..
And no, i don't like swedish lyrics.. I find that so geeky and it sounds so macho.. Hard to explain.
The only good band with swedish lyrics is thyrfing. Almost all the other bands sing of wikings and their axes and so on..
