I'm an American living in India. For the last 7 months. It's pretty cool. If you're ever in Hyderabad, you're welcome to crash at my place. As long as you aren't afraid of Muslims! Damnit I'm lonely here. Come visit. We have several western toilets. You'd get your own room and your own western toilet! And my mother in law loves to cook for people.. I so serious people.
Chai.. Did you visit the Salar Jang museum? Hyderabad is mainly a Muslim city.. been there once..went to Golconda fort as well.. Andra Pradesh has got some loveley handicafts.. ask for kalamkari=handprinting art.. Namaste..to you.. Tiger
put the Aat al Kursi surah in your home... it's a blessing..for the house...and its inhabitants.. by the way...Hyderabad was scorching hot.. Tiger
Do know a good friend who lived in India. He is from Kerala by the way. He stayed there but got bored sitting on his veranda having everyone serving him. You see he is an author, a book writer and a philosophical one and so he came back to Britain to open a christian book shop. He now has two on the go. Last time he was in London, he stayed in Hotels but now he has sorted his life out. His latest book, Meditations on life is well worth a read. Here is the book shop to go to if you ever come to England: Christian bookshop Richmond Road Leeds Yorks
Chai, what do you do in India? I mean, are you working or studying or what? Your Mother-in-Law, wow... I couldn't imagine getting married yet, the tought makes me feel queasy!
I'm studying Urdu (language) and teaching English part-time (2 days a week) to cute little kids (not for money..I only get about 2$ per day and I spend much more than that on supplies!)
Oh wow, that's pretty amazing. How do find teaching? Are you qualified or did you just jump right in there and use your own initiative? Is there much call for English teachers out in India?
OMG! I am going there next summer!! For a mission trip. I'm terribly excited. haha I would crash with you, if I didn't already have accomidations, because that is the exact place I will be staying.
I have heard that Hyderabad is extremely hot during the summers...But Its one of the most hi-tech cities in INdia and a major IT hub.
