1-people are reely attached too their dreads ( hahaha pun intended). why? i just read that dreads are more of a lifestyle choice rather than a hairstlye. but i don't understand. more power to ya though!!! 2- about natural dreading. wouldn't your hair just knot into one big dread?or do they seperate on their own....or do people manually seperate them???!!! would love to know! peace!!!! 1. Loads of people have them for loadddss of different reasons. Theres a topic around somewhere, where everyone stated their reasons for having them. Personally for me it's about personal growth as a person, as my dreads lock and grow, I grow as a person. 2. If left completely alone yes it will grow into one glorious uni-dread haha. So you tear them into the sections you want as you go along.
so i found out about why people dread their hair (for spiritual reasons, and stuff like that lol).which i think is pretty rad. so i was talking to my mom about dreads, like how you CAN wash them and that your actually less likely to get parasite in your hair, etc. but i told her that i kind of want dreads and then again i don't (50/50). and she was like "well...i'd rather you get our nose peirced"(idk where that came from i haven't mentioned getting peircings for over a year) and i laughed. and then she said " but...if you insist on getting dreadlocks ...you can. but only if you make the honor roll!" lol idk i just thought it was funny how i wasn't even begging her and she was all "fine ok i suppose you can grow them!" then she mentioned how guys probably wouldn't want to date me if i had dreads cause they'd think it's nasty. not that i need a man anyway, plus if he judged me solely on my hair i wouldn't want him anyway. but has anyone else experienced this? ANNNNNND! she said that she figured dreads would smell kinda.....funky. lol what with all the sweat build up and only washing em like 3 times a week and so on. so do dreads smell bad? lol! OH MY IM SO FULL OD QUESTIONS!!!! and i seen some lady with dreads at Reisbecks(sp?) today! i was like "cool!!!" and she smiled. it's the first person ive seen with dreads in real life! they were beautiful!!!! ok ive already wrote WAAAAAAY too much! SORRY!
that's a great deal your mom offered. that's the sort of thing i'd do if i had kids. you can get dreads if you get on the honor roll. sweet. my dreads don't smell bad unless i stuff them under my hat for days. let them breathe and go swimming and they should be fine! you'll probably attract a different kind of guy if you get dreads. i personally think guys that find dreads attractive/have dreads are HOT. mmm.
yeah, and even if i end up deciding not to get dreads it'd still be a good idea to make honor roll hehe! ^_^ so it works out no matter what i do! too bad that there aren't anyyy "hip" guys in my town or anywhere nearby. lol. only 2 more years then i can move to a more accepting and bigger place. woohoo! yeah i think (most) dreads are superdy duper hot!
A lot of guys think girls with dreads are dirty, but then again that usually attracts a different kind of guy *raises hand*....anyways the firs tkind of guy is probably a prejudice bastard and you dont want him anyway. and about the smell thing...mine usually hold in good smells and keep out the bad. the last time i washed mine was about a week ago (not because of dreads, cause im lazy) and today i mowed the grass and came in dripping sweat, i mean i could get some drops from twisting my shirt, and my momma smelled my hair and told me it smelled minty, and i use a minty burts bees shampoo, sooo yeah ill stop babbling now, hope this wasnt a complete waste of time, good luck
yeah my dreads have never smelled bad. the worst smell they ever had was campifire smoke smell. but washing got rid of that. and yeah, chicks with dreads are hott
Dreads have a pleseant smell, but they absorb smells fairly easily (like smoke for example) but as soon as you wash them, the smell goes away. Get your nose pierced AND get dreads! Thats what I did >.< but now Im trying to convince my mum into letting me get a second hoop in that nostril... and yeah, I say Mum not Mom... Goodluck with the dreads and the ...Honour Role?
oh cool cool. yeah i think everybody's hair (normal er not) picks up like smoke smells and stuff anyway. at least mine always had. haha yeah i ought to do both (get dreads and nose peirced). but, idk i don't really want any peircing anymore. lol i have never even gotten my ears peirced! !
