Are you ready to begin a better life for yourself? I am. I have reached my breaking point with the current state of our world. Turn on the news right now, I can almost gaurantee theres a story about war, famine, war, terrible crimes agains our fellow man (or woman), war, or a so called "natural" disaster that we; as humans are responsible for. turn the channel an its probably more war. I have had enough. I am ready to quit my full time, suit and tie, work to the bone and still have no money, bull shit job. I know that there are people out there that feel the way I do. I've read your comments. I have been gathering info and ideas on establishing an earth friendly community, based on the ideals of living at one with mother earth; organic farming, solar/wind power to live off the grid, ect. the values of good karma and strong sense of community; the, for lack of a better word, Family would own the land, buildings, crops, livestock, and produce as one. There would be no need for outside jobs, all financial issues would be dealt with by a treasurer and counsel. The family would produce our own food, teach our children, and be responsible for every aspect of our own existance. We CAN escape the clusterfuck that our world has become. I offer to you a chance to take part in the establishment of a better life for yourself, to live in peace and be happy with the lifestyle you lead. I am looking for young, old, single, families, man, woman, musician, artist, farmer, free spirit, whomever YOU are, if you are ready to better the world, your life and your soul. I am ready to take the journey, I just need some friends to help. We would need to raise enough capitol to purchase some land, minimal equipment and supplies. let's hear a what, where, and when. more info cause general idea is good, but hard to follow. what is your plan, and how you will acheive it.

 

I agree. Narrow it down a bit. I don't mind investing in a community but I'm not looking for a group home in Brooklyn, NY.

And by investing I mean money, heart, soul, sweat, etc.

 

I have no what, where and when. I have a general plan of getting the fuck out of our corporate infested lives, by living off the earth, grow and raise food, build eco-friendly homes, live amongst like minded good people, and excape to a haven of peaceful living. I would love to be out in the low mountains of nevada, not too hot, not too cold, beautiful, and remote. The exact where and when, would depend on if anybody or how many people are ready to get started on a better life. I def. don't have enough money to go and buy land, equipment, ect. This thread was to find out how many like minded hip folk are out there, I'm not the type to plan it all down to a tee, and then have somehting change. I'm trying to get a feel for what people want, think about what exactly I want and then go from there. So, if any of you out there in cyber hippie land have suggestions, ideas, haha or any money to throw around, post it up, I'm eager to see what develops.

 

I totally empathize with you, Ziggydude. Society is a mess and all of the control is in the hands of power-hungry, greedy individuals who fight for wealth using the blood of the poor. I think we should all get out. My advice to you, however, is to join a community that already exists. There are a lot of communes out there that live exactly as you want to live and have worked out the kinks that can accompany such an enormous task. That way you can have a handle on what exactly it takes, what works and what doesn't, etc. etc. It is a huge step to take in your life and I believe if you truly want to do it, the best way is from learning from those who have experience.
