sounds like you're fed up with all the bull shit that goes on in the world too, ive been trying to establish a "tribe" as well, not so much of a tribe as a large family living as one in an environmentaly friendly community.Core beliefs in preserving natural earth, i.e. organic farming, eco friendly lifestyles, wind/solar power, a place to live in peace, raise a family or find your center. and ofcourse a community working as one to live happily in this twisted world. Please contact me on the forums or at colony1313@yahoo.com . We can change damage done to mother earth, only if we all are one and work together. I know there are more of us out there, waiting to make a diffrence.

    Peace to all,
    Ziggy

I'm interested in this too... But I think, it would be better not to just away from civilization into nature, but to form large tribes around the world and try to bring down the civilization altogether. If you understand what I'm suggesting ;)

damn wouldnt ^that be sweet? it would start here in california, build up round the world, then we would break the system by over powering it. all the tribes shall be one and all governments shall be none. :)CONQUER NICELY:)

well it hasnt happened yet, has it? so you dont know shit. but if it did happen and we all became tribes and were in harmony together to take down the system, im guessing we would be at the point of risking our lives for everyone else. i mean, the government has military power, and that is going to be a bitch.

I've come across plenty threads so similar to this, even in the same forum but it all ends in chatter and dreaming and no real action

and anyways where is is the original starter of this thread?

to make it work, the basic original tribe or community members need to be skilled in something beneficial to self-sustainability-e.g horticulture, building skills, knowledge of alternative electricity methods, pottery, medicinal plant knowledge

and the reasons for wanting to start such a community should be similar and not fancifal or coz it sounds so cool to live one with nature- this is a lifestyle choice not a vacation

    anybody still keen??????

I think my issue is that i'm not keen on the 'hippy commune' formula but more along the lines of a 'techno-environ self-sufficient community'.

We can not indefinately cut ourselves off from technological advances, especially those in alternative energy and horticulture.

This community would be the blueprint for those to come in the future, maybe theres already some out there. If anybody has come across one I would be eager to have news of it.

I'm getting so restless to begin but confused where to start

that a excellent plan. i better do that sometime in my life. i want to go into nature for a while not really live in it. or just travel around and eventually settle down in a place i really like.

Hey! A fellow Norwegian! Let's move to the mountain together and live in the unforgiving cold and harsh nature of Norway!

A-ho, well put. I am fairly uplifted by this thread full of twenty-somethings and younger exploding with idealism and passion. We are a forming tribe, we have land, and we are currently welcoming. If you share this vision, and really do want to build sustainable community, a tribe of interdependence, a place for our children and their children, then come on and grab a fucking shovel! We're a hippie commune, but not anti-technology, and we found about the best place in the states.

Really interested? PM me and I'll give details.

    Love and Light,
    Joshua
