i'm talking about an organized movement purely comprised of the general public making an effort to ovethrow the government. how realistic is this? i would imagine the internet would be a key tool in the organization, but are citizens willing to risk moving beyond their comfort zone to actually commit to something big enough to change the framework of how we live our day to day lives?

You can talk about movements all day long but what I've learned is just do it.
Start your own, be the only person in it, and as you go others will join you and it will grow.

If your not down with that join my movement: Free Amerika.
Free Amerika is a living, growing movement. We seek a free nation, free of oppression from government and big business, oppressing the people in the name of the bottom line. We are freedom. We are life.

Fairly i don't know many internet communities in function of activism and protest, i do know alot of national based websites and fora, but not really international. Maybe getting something like this launched wouldn't be a bad idea?
To share ideas and "the many different way's" how to fight repression and globalisation. It might not be as effective as small organised groups, but it would be nice to have some sort of "cross-road (forgotten the right word)" to keep in touch with eachother. Or for planning out actions at global events like the yearly G8 meeting.

You will not be able to. You want freedom? Freedom isnt free. You have to fight for it! Not by invading foreign nations like Iraq, fighting for freedom is revolution.

The french are always out in the streets, thats why they have free health care, twice the wages Americans have, 100% freedom et c.

You americans are afraid of your goverment, you will never fight for your freedom.

Over the net I say arm up and buy plenty of ammo first and then wait for the whistle of the masked 2 million man armed march to start outside of the net. With it they'll be targeting gov buildings from court buildings to etc up to the white house. It's easy to organize but just not over the net because the gov be watching for it. Just set a date in secret for the march come and to bust on em all and it's on. The anarchy will be televised!

the thing is i think most people's attitude falls along the lines of "im down if everyone else is" i admit i feel this way. most peopledont want to risk losing what they have already established on a gamble.

as far as using the internet goes, its true the government would probably find out if something that big ever came to fruition, but how else would we be able to get enough people on the same page?

Well if this revolution is on - I figure my first duty is to suggest a theme song and it is – “New Dawn” by Mourning Maniac. Cheers!

It's possible, but not a random thing where u just topple the government without a plan. I dont think the government should be toppled but changed. And It should be done through peaceful protest and popular demand

Don't be so quick to judge us. Just because little has been done in the way of America to improve health care, etc...we've just had a more difficult time finding enough people to really make a difference. There are Americans out there that are doing what they can...apparently, it is just not enough. The rest of Americans aren't afraid of the government at all, they're just little easily convinced that the government is doing what they should be doing. AKA: ignorant, naive and easily convinced.
