hello, lets see what you think of this for a proposal

hello this is my first post, im Benson. Me and my good friend have just been discusing what we want to achieve with our life's so i was wandering... would it be possible to go forth into the world and set up a totally self sufficient community. Like take a bunch of good friends with the same ideals build a house grow crops and just survive with no contact with the outside world away from all the bulls*** in the world and not be disturbed (or arrested)

like a commune?

 

A) Buy your own island

B) Buy your own land, and then pay taxes on it.

Either way you need cash, yeah it sucks.

 

Acually if you find an uninhabbited Island you are allow to claim it as yours, with out paying anyone

My friends and I are going to buy about 20-30 acres. We will share what we have with each other, but not cut ourselves off from the world. Like praying4peace said, the world is beautiful, despite what a lot of people are doing to it. And you can not change things by cutting yourself off. Get involved, but have a refuge to get away too.

 

hey bens. i signed up this mornin' and actually managed to find your thread! lol. i agree totally with the idea of busting outta society.. i mean, we were born without rules or regulations, and the more the government tightens its grip, the more i intend to kick. i wouldn't be driven to the extreme of fucking off to the middle of nowhere with a few buddies if society was a little more leanient, but, as it turns out, everyone's too busy with their 9-5 shifts to notice how cornered they have become, so society has, as it seems, won once more.

tis scary, almost like something outta the matrix... we're all trapped, but most of us don't even realise how much. i await the revolution, preferrably before there is nothing natural left in society to take back..

still, i can't see any of the higher powers making it easy for us to do. i'd be happy to jus build from natural resources in themiddle of knowhere.. where no one would think to look. but it'd only take one to come asking for planning permission or something and we'd be fucked. this is what i hate. every plot of land everywhere, is owned by someone. the whole world is owned. how the fuck can you own 30000 acres of forest land? why not give us a lil bit o' that? lol kk.. rant over.

anyone.. with ANY idea on how to get round this... i need to know.

well maybe not cut myself off totally im just fed up with the way the world is run... there are too many restrictions you cant even have a cigarett in the pup anymore without getting chicked out... i mean how far are they going to take this... one minute we cant smoke in public... whats next??? are we going to be forced to all wear the same clothes have the same hair cut basicly take away all our individuality and turn us into clones. This is a bit of an extreme veiw and scenario but who could to stop them if thats what the govornment desires??? Something just gives me a bad feeling that something big is going to happen in the next 10... 15... 20 years??? i dont know when its going to be but somethings going to happen soon.

but, why a commune? communism would jus never work in the long run. would have to be a fair dictatorship or something... tis human nature to try and shake the balance, and even if you're all level headed enough to make it work, what about your kids? and your kids kids? people still need someone to give them a slap when they've messed up.

 

i know what you mean, brother. it's like some George Orwell sh*t. i wouldn't say 10...it's more like 1, well, for the US, but you guys over there *points in your general direction* have got your work cut out for you, or so i've heard.
whatever it is, don't let it bring you down because they can never hold you down unless you let them.
