Wow...given this is a pretty hippy trippy place, I'm surprised there wasn't a thread on this game already. You can play it right now, all you need is Flash installed. The game was originally a college student's thesis presentation. A very cool college student. A graphically souped-up version of it is available as a game one can purchase online for the PS3, but this version still will satisfy... http://intihuatani.usc.edu/cloud/flowing/
Yeah, the PS3 version is much prettier than the freebie online PC version. It has more critters to play too. But for a free game, the PC version isn't bad at all.
When you get to the end, you unlock a different critter. In the PS3 version, there's a total of 5, but in the free online version I think there's only 2. And I thought the sound/music was pretty cool, too.
Yeah first you're a snake-like creature. Then you're a circle with smaller circles rotating around the big circle. I haven't gotten farther than that.
That's pretty much it for the online version, not a very long game...but not bad considering it's free, and it was originally that guy's graduate thesis (I think). Pretty fun homework assignment. He also made another pretty surreal game called Cloud. It has somewhat higher system requirements (needs a 3d graphics card to play). But it's also a fun way to spend a half hour or so. You can check it out here. The download is quick, and you can install it anywhere and run it and later just delete the directory if you want...it doesn't set up any system registry information or anything. If you do try it out, there's a neat little bonus level you can select from one of the menus that's an inside joke for Katamari fans.
