I'm looking for a friend and camping companion in New York City. Could we share some common ground? Or at least a tent?

To this end, I care a good deal about the quality of relationships, not only between myself and other persons, but the way we relate to art, music, literature and the way we interact with our environment.

Most recently, I camped out in a used car lot in Queens, NY as part of an art project http://tinyurl.com/y7b2u5.

But mother nature it ain't. So that why I've chosen to live in forests for weeks at a time.

I love the peace and tranquility of the wilderness. Or the joy of finding an unexpected secret swimming hole. And I love the sound of rain when it makes a popcorn-like noise when it bounces off my tent - it's really hypnotic.

And it's so magical to look up at the stars - wow! - they are so much brighter than in the City.

This summer, I am hoping to go to the Catskill Mountains, as well as other places within a three hour drive of Manhattan.

I can show you hidden waterfalls in the forest and climb mountains with you which have inspired the Hudson River school of landscape painters.

I am also interested in sharing a trip to the Rainbow Family Gathering in the Allegheny National Forest from Sunday, August 12th through Sunday the 19th. It's a 350 mile, 6.5 hour road trip from NYC.

I have all the camping equipment needed to live a clean, health, comfortable and safe existence in a forest, ranging from a water purifier to a miniature stove to a tent heater to a portable shower.

Perhaps both of us will return from whatever journey we share with a little more enlightened and inspired by mother earth and each other.
