I'm thinking of getting my nose pierced. I've wanted it done since I was about 13. I'm wondering, however, what I should expect. Does it hurt a lot? Will i have problems when I sneeze (I have allergies). Will it get infected if I get a cold? Just some background questions. thanks :)

    Does it Hurt
Varies from person to person. For me, it hurt when the piercer pierced it, and once again when she put the stud in. My eyes watered as reaction to the piercing (I wasn't crying I swear!). But by the time I walked out the shop it was feeling fine.

Will you have problems when you sneeze
I barely notice mines even there half the time, when I sneeze nothing happens, Ive had one cold since I got it done (not that long a go) and it was fine, except be a bit careful with the tissues (and facewashers/towels etc) they can try to rip the stud out which is painful.

the nose stings a bit,,, makes eyes water like sped said but not a cry or even close... the first week or two are pretty tender but it heals rather quickly.... i rarely notice mine at all either,,, i have had it for 16-18 yrs now n never had any sort of infection whatsoever in it.... ... will say though if you are oneinto snorting things becareful.... some of the rings will be all but impossible to remove after having done so.... powders seem to turn into concrete like substance once mixxed with snot:)

i really want a ring through my nose, but i need a way of persuading my parents, oh and my teachers that it's a good idea. otherwise i have to wait until i'm 18, 2 years away! any ideas, and can you get, say, a stud that looks invisible?

I've seen clear piercing holders that are pretty much invisible unless you look really close. Hopefully it won't be red.

Ye you can, they may be called retainers? Im not sure, try ebaying it. Thing is, you should wear your stud for at least a month befor you swap it.

okay, cool. I think I'm going to go get my nose done today :D I was just worried about it getting infected if I had a cold (my mom is against me getting it done, but hey, i've wanted it for years and I'm an adult now, if it goes bad I can always take it out and let it heal.)

No, it dosn't hurt. Well, at least that's how it was with me and every other person I know who has it done.
I get sick all the time, runny nose, allergies, sneezing, the whole nine yards, and I've never had a problem with it.

i was like 13 or 14 when i had my nose pierced. it hurts a lot! mine did when i had it.. plus it got infected. lol.. and now i have a scar there. FOR LIFE. lol

but thats cause i didnt get it proffessionally done. my friend did it for me, and i didnt really take good care of it. and i put a ring instead of a stud.. so it moved around a lot, which probably irritated it. lol..
