My son has learned to open door quite efficiently. Pretty good for not even being two yet. Looks like the days of pooing in private are over though. So far he seems to always shut the door after he enters though, so that's good.:)

Do you know what I would give to go potty alone. It's been nearly five years since I have had any privacy. If he sees me heading to the bathroom he races to get in there first. If I do get in there and lock the door, he stands outside and kicks the door and screams to be let in. And he can push the door open a little when it's locked so he will stand there and spy. "I see your boobies mommy." I just want to pee or get dressed in peace.

i've never been to the toilet alone since my son could crawl (cos i hated not being able to see him) and he's 2 and half now, but now i have him and my 1 and half daughter come in with me and decide they want to play with their toys at the same time...lol. One time my son went and got his chair and decided to sit in the toilet with me...LOL but at the moment i don't mind cos maybe it will teach him to use the loo,

It was a bad joke. I haven't done any restroom related acitivities privately for a year and a half either. It seems like I struck a nerve.

Not a problem. This is the problem with the internet, you can't see the emotion or facail expressions, or hear the tones in the voice. It makes it hard to tell if someone is being sarcastic or happy or sad.....

you DO get it back as they get to the self-body aware stage.

    or after some righteous farts.

lol Yep, you'll get it back. I still have to lock the door to take a bath without DD coming in though. I start filling a tub, and she's right on my heels.

"Whatcha doin' Mama? Gonna take a bath? Are ya gonna put in bubbles? Can *I* put in the bubbles? Can I get you a towel? Do you need a book? Should I bring you a phone? Can I have some chocolate milk? Did you see the bruise on my knee? Can it get a band-aid? Can we play Uno when you're done? Mama... MAMA!!! Why'd ya lock the door Mama?!?!?!?!?"

Really, I'm told it gets better though ;)
    love,
    mom

yeah, boys realize that the culture sez: "don't oogle mom" pretty quick.
since i'm a modest person by nature, I only had a few "and I crap in peace?" comments until I got my privacy back.
Don't know on the dad-son bit.
