Yea Hurt by Johnny Cash defeintly takes some cake on this one. I think that Trent wrote it and may have felt what he had written, but I think Johnny Cash has even more so.

But also the song "Wont you give a man a home" by ben Harper is pretty sad, they used to use it in the mental health Commercials, ie Have you evvvvveeerr, Looooooooosssssst your way, Have you eveerrrrr etc.

Also CRy CRy CRy by Janis Joplin, I wish my lady would take me back.

The only song that's made me tear up was Breaking Benjamin's Rain. I don't know, that song just made me cry...

don't say goodbye- the westminster abbey, is a really sad song, but it's so frickin' good maybe it's because it's so intense and you can hear it in the music and vocals...

I opened the thread and what i see...Last kiss, Pearl Jam.Black means a lot to me, a lot more than just a song. I'll also add one more, not pearl jam song. It's been a while, Staind.

I must agree with In My Life by the Beatles, and I'm gonna add Mother by John Lennon, and Lalena by Donovan

WOW! I can't beleive no one mentioned the 2 that popped in my head first!
I think Poolsahrk by Sublime is really sad. I cry almost everytime I hear it. Brad knew his fate, didn't want it, but couldn't stop it. I think it's so sad.

The other that hits me the most is Box of Rain by the Grateful Dead because it was written by Phil and the lyricist (it's so early I can't think of his name) about his father dying. I guess this hits me hard because I played this song to my best friend and he loved it, was getting his hands on every Grateful Dead music he could find, just beacuse of this song, and he died in a car accident a week later.

oh yeah I forgot. Letter Home by moe. brings tears to my eyes too. Not beacause it's sad but it makes me think of all the places I've been and people I've met and how conflicing touring could be. When you're gone, you miss home. When you're home you miss your tour family. I don't know. It just tugs at my heart.

Billy Joel - She's always a woman to me

That's not necessarily sad, but it reminds me of my friend's mother. She died in Jan. 2003. She was the woman in that song, I swear.

Josh Groban - To Where you Are

This was played at my Grampa's funeral. It was dedicated to my Granny, who bawled. It reminds me of their life together and I cry everytime I hear it.

Psh, Puff the Magic Dragon. I'm serious now. That song's so sad. Okay, so I can think of a lot more but I'm too lazy to make a list. But...I just always had so much pity for poor Puff *sniff*
