smokin a hookah with a lighter?

yo,
im back from germany and have been using my hookah i bought there....only problem is, i ran out of coal and have wanted to smoke since, so ive tried lighting it each time i took a hit...but it tasted weird, probably lighter fluid, so i stopped...
my question is, do you guys know if its good smoking it like that? was i jsut bein paranoid bout the lighter fluid?

the only way i smoke weed out of a hookah is with a lighter. coal makes it taste weird.

 

I didn't even know you could smoke a hookah with coal.
I always use a lighter and I'm fine.

a coal is a lot easier but i dont see the problem with using a lighter

 

yeah you put a lil coal triangle on a piece of aluminium foil. its not the lighter u should worry about, but the oxides from the foil and coal

 

I've never smoked a hookah with a lighter. Then again, I've only smoked tobacco out of hookahs. Coal is pretty easy to find though, at least around where I live. Maybe check around businesses owned by people from the middle east, because they sell them in random places where I live, such as in delis and restaurants. Hookah is really popular here, though, so there are three or four hookah bars in my city and many places that sell sundry hookah supplies.

Another option is to just order the coals online.
