If the rest of the plant is ok and the elaves are fine, then you have nothing to worry about as far as I can tell. Just let the plant do it's thing. If you really do think somethings wrong then post a pic and I'll see if I can help

    Peace and good luck bro

That's what cannibis does at the end of flowering, it dies! You need to fill us in with more details of how you are growing so we'll know what is happening. Inside, outside, photoperiod, nutes, hydro, soil, etc., ectc. A picture is worth a thousand words too!

for whatever reasons, probably bad genetics, it could be dying early. experienced that..just add a bit more co2 and dont give it too much (or too little) nutrients....

if it dies without producing much bud, well, c'est la vie....get better seeds/clones

What are you feeding it? Sounds like fert/nute burn. Make sure if you're plant is flowering that whatever you are feeding it is not too high in nitrogen, as that will send the plant back into vegetative growth.

This is an example of a "picture being worth a thousand words".

When you say "buds around the stem" are you referring to the preflowers? I only say this as if the plant is mature and starting to die you shouldn't be seeing new growth.
