i have started growing a couple plants in my closet and am looking for advice.. i dont usually have access to the internet so i'm pretty limited on research. my friend tells me i need a 400 watt sodium light but the only one they had at the hardware store was for outdoor security and i'm not even sure the fixture would fit in my closet. so i have one long 75 watt grow lightset a couple inches over the plant and then a 120 watt grow bulb set higher up. the 120 watt is in a metal fixture to focus the light and it gives off a decent amount of heat. i'm not even sure it'd be safe using anything more powerful than that in my little wooden closet. i also have a fan and tin foil set up. they seem to be growing steadily but kinda slow. i noticed a little browning on the tips of my biggest plant's lower leaves. not too sure why that's happening.
Go to a bookstore. I treat them like a library with a coffee machine Brown tips usually mean overfertilization btw.
if its browning on the top of the plant the light is to close move it a inch or so away hps(high pressure sodium) is best light to use you can pick one up from ebay or i think from pet shops that specializ in fish not sure on that one never bought one from a shop
Get on google and search your area along with "hydroponic supplies and equipment" or "hydro shop". A proper light and fan are vital bro. Also get a book on how to grow, "Cannabis Grow Bible" is a good one.
If you haven't used any ferts then most likely the pH of your water if off, you need a pH tester. If the pH is off then the plant can't absorb food and it will die. Do like the other guy said and buy and read a book on the subject. And bro, gotta be honest, if you're growing inside and not willing to spend $$$ then don't expect anything worth the risk you're taking by growing herb.
not that i'm not willing but i have more important bills to pay first before i can go off buying 150 dollar lamps and shit
