Community service an enlightning experience

Well, yesterday was my day off so I decided to get some community service out of the way that I had to do for a ticket I got back in May for alcohol. So I went to this place called the Cornerstone Outreach Center where they give needy people groceries. As it turned out, that place gives double hours on Fridays so I'm all done with cs now. But I wouldn't mind going back and volunteering. I felt like I was doing something worth while. So it really was a blessing in desguise. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

 

community service sucks ass only 18 more hours to go for me, tuesday, saturday, and then tuesday, and im all done after the 17th. no more selling drugs for me, ive learned my lesson.

 

soul rebel, i think its a great thing if you arent forced to do it, and even if you are, suck it up, because for eveything we take we need to give atleast a fraction of it back... I think its selfish for people to not volunteer at all... or to be pissy about it when they are volunteering...

In the schools here we have to complete 40 hours of community service or they wont allow us to graduate, and i think it's great. I clean up the cemeteries and pick up garbage by the highways and rivers here around my town...
I dont actually get a good feeling from i though... I guess I dont put alot of thought into picking up garbage so its not like im being repayed in good vibes.. i just do it and I love looking behind me and seeing grass, not garbage, along the road... So I guess I do get a good feeling, seeing the cleanliness

Its so wonderful when things like this are sent our way, espacially when we expected something so different.
The opportunity to be of service is an opportunity to give of ourselves,exactly what we are supposed to do with our lives and time here, it is the only thing we can do, we cannot take thislife with us when we go and if we do nothing here or only do things to build up our own ego it is wasted.
Sweetie do go back...that feeling of goodness is exactly supposed to feel like that, a connection to our true spirit.

Its because lately Ive been nothing but right about politics.

 

I know I'm NOT supporting homosexual marriage. I know I'm NOT supporting the slaughter of unborn babies in cases of abortion or the fairy tale of embryonic stem cell research. I know I DO support government fuding for adult stem cell research where no one dies and progress is being made. I know I DO support being allies with Israel. I know I AM supporting a war on terrorism that will make the world (not just the US) a safer place. I know I AM supporting fighting on their land and not ours.

Do you ignorant people ever consider what may have happened if Dubya didn't take a stand? Terrorists would have known we were scared. I'm glad our President is brave and not afraid to take action when it is needed. Just think, Sept. 11 is coming up. Maybe we could be attacked again!! Wouldn't that be great? Yea, whatever just as long as we're not at war, right? If Bush handn't taken us to war, then we would have been attacked several more times, and then everyone would be mad because he didn't have the guts to do something about it. And then Kerry's campaign would be this: We will go to war!!! instead of STOP THE WAR!! And laugh all you want if I get drafted. I'll see you in Iraq buddy! I know God will take care of me. Kerry wants to send more troops, but he also said he wants the troops out in a short time. Bush has said that this is going to be a long and grueling war with no end in sight. Where the hell are you getting your information?

We would not have isolated ourselves even further from the UN, and we wouldn't be the subject of growing international disgust.

I think it's a major step backwards for us! Current American policy is fueling even more hatred against an American government that will take a tragedy (9/11) and use it as a flimsy veil over the quest to secure oil for our own greedy, polluted, and corrupt economy.

We passed up a chance to really look at ourselves as a people and make greatly needed societal, spiritual, ecological, and political changes. Of course we were angry and hurt over 9/11. Terrorism is wrong, it's never right to make a point by taking innocent lives. And I believe we should defend our homeland without trading in our civil rights. But trading life for life in a drawn out war is NOT the answer, or even still related to those events at this point.

If you don't think abortion is right, don't have one. But how can anyone even think of going back to the crazy days of blackmarket, back-alley, coathanger abortions. When we as a culture can evolve to a place where there's not as many unplanned and unwanted pregnancies then this issue may become null and void but for now... Eek. I'm adopted so I have strong feelings on this issue (i.e., I could have been aborted and not enjoyed this particular journey through life) but I still support the right for a woman to have legal abortion available to her.

I have been trying to telly that our close friends family is dying out there. Innocents dying because of Sheep like you.

Stem cell research does not kill fetuses. You can take cord blood from your born baby, and store it for your family. Children with serious brain disorders have been saved, because of their younger/older siblings cord blood.

 

Actually I learned today that from a psychological standpoint even your opinions were wrong. You cannot back up your beliefs with facts and/or logical explanations on why you believe them, so therefore your opinions are wrong. Have a nice day.
