need immediate information

i am going into surgery tomorrow. it is nothing serious, it is just a small keyhole operation on my knee to fix some cartlidge and it will be over in less then half an hour.
anyway, i am going to be completly knocked out on anesthetic and i was readin a info booklet thing and it said that the anesthesia person asks questions before hand such as how long since you last smoked and if you do drugs. i dont think the smoking question is an issue, but the last time i did weed was about a month ago i think.
anyone no if any of this is gonna have an effect on the anesthesia?

As long as you haven't smoked in the past three days, you should be fine.


Also, you shouldn't smoke after the surgery.

 

if you tell em you smoke, they wont give you good pain pills for the after

 

okay awesome. yeah i have no intention to smoke after...just to take advantage of the pain killers

You'll be perfectly fine. Whenever you go to surgery just tell them the truth and if they dont feel you are ready then they wont operate. I wouldnt worry about a thing though.

as long as you dont tell them you on drugs at the moment...they can't do anything to you.

 

I wouldn't worry. I've been in the same situation, and it didn't matter.

 

woohoo, just got outta surgery, everything went so well. they didnt even ask me any drugs questions. got a lot of nice pain killers and some crutches. lots of fun actually, im very grateful that my first operation was something so easy and simple
