what I find hilarious about the whole thing is how al gore's wife, tipper, attacked the music industry for being indecent, back in the mid 80s...... and so her husband uses the music industry for his own personal agenda on global warming.

I think the live earth concert was here to fix what they did at the live aid concert back in 1985... all the performers used way too much hairspray and depleted a hole in the ozone, causing alot of our global warming problems

Look Rat, I'm not gonna waste my time refuting all this conservative propaganda you spewed here.

I just looked up the first thing I came across, cause I knew it wouldn't be hard to find the TRUTH if you just look. You should see all the conservative websites I read the same crap that Rat spews here. A real CON JOB going on...

Yup this shit comes from the likes of FreeRepublic, FoxNews, etc.

Some points left out or deemphasized by the Conservative media that you worship.

    1. Al Gore doesn't own the mine, isn't doing the mining, only leases the underground mineral rights beneath his farm to the mine.
    2. Which means Al Gore himself is not legally responsible for what the mine does.
    3. He bought the farm from his father, so he really didn't go out looking for that type of investment, it was already part of the family
    4. The mine is UNDERGROUND, which is far less polluting than strip mining.
    5. Zinc is an essential element in great demand these days for things like Laptop batteries. If you own a laptop, you are MORE responsible for zinc pollution than Gore.
    6. The mine has been closed for the last Four Years (they don't tell you that do they?)
    7. According to the article below, Gore might not renew the lease (I'm not sure of its status at this moment), and has asked "to make sure the operation doesn't damage the environment".
    8. Attack Gore all you want because most of it is lies and innuendo, and by the time the election rolls around few will care. That's because Bush & Cheney's lies will be the only ones on everyone's minds in the poll booth.
    9. Tests on the water have found more dangerous pollution from adjacent FARMS than from the mine itself.
    10. Gore was stuck with a 30 year lease in 1973, that they couldn't break if they wanted to.
    11. The mining operation is HUGE, it's one of the biggest Zinc mines in the world. Gore's property is just a small fraction of the operation, so any stats about it should take that into consideration, but don't.
    12. The vast majority of the zinc pollution is sitting in piles on the ground, not flowing thru the river, as they would have you believe. It ain't going nowhere.

This is the kind of research ALL OF US must do to counter the BS being spewed by the MEDIA these days.

Lazy ppl just post verbatim talking points from conservative sites without really doing research or analyzing the facts for themselves. What a Pity.

CARTHAGE, Tenn. — Al Gore has profited from zinc mining that has released millions of pounds of potentially toxic substances near his farmstead, but there is no evidence the mine has caused serious damage to the environment in the area or threatened the health of his neighbors.

Massive white mountains of leftover rock waste are evidence of three decades of mining that earned Gore $570,000 in royalty payments for the mineral rights to his property.

New owners plan to start mining again later this year, after nearly four years of inactivity. In addition to bringing 250 much-needed jobs to rural middle Tennessee, mine owners will resume paying royalties to some residents who, like Gore, own land adjacent to the mine and leased access to the zinc under their property.

Gore has yet to be approached by the new owner, Strategic Resource Acquisition, said his spokeswoman Kalee Kreider, and he and wife, Tipper, have not decided whether they will renew their lease. It was terminated when the mine closed in 2003.

Last week, Gore sent a letter asking the company to work with Earthworks, a national environmental group, to make sure the operation doesn't damage the environment.

"We would like for you to engage with us in a process to ensure that the mine becomes a global example of environmental best practices," Gore wrote.

No, Alex Jones isn't my idol, but it seems like you and Pepik like to continually state that he is in order to suit your agenda. That article you provided didn't even originate from Jones' website, but from USA Today.

Conservative propaganda? The same thing could be said about a lot of the sophomoric tripe coming from the Left.

Propaganda goes both ways, Skip. It's not limited to the "side" you disagree with, and if you understood the truth, you would realize there are no sides except the ones that are given to you by the media in order to control you.

Unlike the majority of people, I see beyond the Left/Right illusion and understand that both wings belong to the same bird. The media gives the people a false Left and a false Right, then plays both sides off against each other to create synthesis. If you understood the hegelian dialectic, you might be better able to understand the true nature of propaganda and conflict creation, which keeps people's minds trapped within a box while arguing amongst themselves, blind to their common enemy.

There is no better way to control the public than to split them into teams, so they are arguing amongst themselves over which side is right, blind to the truth which transcends phony labels and political parties. Meanwhile, everyone is arguing over media-given talking points as the ship continues to sink.

Because you cannot debate the facts like an intelligent adult, ignoring all the points I brought up besides one, you resort to petty name calling, implying that I follow the conservative media and am a blind follower because I don't mindlessly go along with Gore's globalist propaganda. This seems to be the same tactic you use with anyone who dare disagree with you.

You think that by painting me as a "conservative," that people will discount what I say. But I think most people here are intelligent enough to do their own research and come to their own conclusion -- or at least I hope they are. Unlike you, I don't expect that everyone agree with what I say, but rather do their own research and get the facts themselves.
