Christ comes again every time we realize Him and alter our behavior and conciousness to be like Him. I dont think the 2nd coming literally implies that He will come during the end of the world, rather, that He will be resurected again in each one of us. Their are a lot of prophets that come when people forget how to be at One with God. But I believe that what Jesus was referring to was the awakening of Christ Conciousness inside all of us. The Kingdom is inside you, right?
Also, it is said that ancient Indian sages could dematerialize (actually, some people still can apparently) and that they could also will matter to be through mental power. So.... who knows
Well, how we have so many myriad atoms in our body, in a fingertip alone is the potential energy to blow the Earth up many times over. So, Im thinking maybe some people can harness that knowledge of force and will matter into existance by controlling that energy. I mean yea, its absurd and far fatched imagination, but none of us obviously can do it, so how do we know if its not true? I dont know, I shouldnt really have said anything because I myself have no control like that :&
Well, basing my thoughts on the current investigations that are going on at CERN in Geneve with anti-matter, I dont think it is possible at all. As you may know, matter is a manifestation of Energy (Energy equals Mass times the speed of light in meters per second squared, E=MC2) which cant just change form at will... a action is required for re-action, and that doesnt work by focusing your thoughts. Although there have been several POSSIBLE leads that there are possiblity's of changing something that occurs by group meditation. How that worked I already forgot, but I really suggest that if you find things like that interesting, that you watch this movie: - What the bleep do we know Both parts
Relayer, I like your conceptualization of the Second Coming, although I'm reserving judgment on people being able to direct energy with psychic powers. I remember watching a TV show once (must have been the Trinity channel) where a lot of the celebrity televangelists were going on about the Second Coming and Armageddon--something they were looking forward to with great relish. One would start off, the next would pick up where he left off, etc., all telling about this bloodcurling stuff about Jesus leading the troops to slaughter the forces of the Anti-Christ. I don't know what Bible they were reading or what they might have been snorting, but it was like they were reading from a script and I've sure never come across it even in Revelations. Whatever happened to the Prince of Peace? Which makes me think that we're badly in need of more skepticism and rationalism in religion. I don't expect the televangelist version to ever happen, at least I hope it doesn't!
The truth is that anybody, not just any religion, who tells you that things are this way and that they most definitley are not that way, is a liar. Even my saying that is up to subjection, but if we try and divide ourselves by claiming that one group of people who do certain things are more divine than another, then we are deluding ourselves. If anything, all holy teachers spoke of acceptance, even more so than they did of love.
The Son of Man left and left behind the Spirit of truth. We are to follow the Son and be where the Son is at and leave this universe. Some of this universe will be taken away too. All that will be left is eternal space and eternal astral beings and the energy (an energy turned into hell) they inherited.
