I've been wanting to dread my hair for some time now, but due to it being short i havent had chance up untill a short while ago ive been reading through the site for some weeks now on how to make my locks the best they can be so anyways ive had them in for about 10 days now and i love them, due to the way i had my hair cut before the locks at the front are about 8 inches and the ones at the back are about 4 or 5 inches, there are just a few issues that i could use some advice on -when should i wash my hair, the last time i washed it was the day before i got my dreads i washed it with some Dr, bronners, it doesnt feel too greasy or itchy at all yet, although i'm afraid that when i do was it some of the looser locks will fall apart - the hair at the very top of my neck/bottom of my head does not seem to want to knot at alleven though we spent a good hour back combing the hell out of themthey still enjoy to return to my normal wavyish hair. shoudl i jsut leave it be and wait for the natural locks to come along - i've mixed up a spray bottle of lemon and salt, when shoudl i start using it though, and how often Thanks in advance -~- Luke here are a few pictures of the locks aswell taken today (day 10)
wash them in a week or so. just be careful. and if the ones at the back keep fallin out leave them to dread up on their own.
Looking good! Don't worry if some of your hair won't lock, most of your dreads will come undone anyway, its all part of the journey and if you have patience you will end up with killer dreads!
those look awesome for 10 days. i'm about the same place and mine are nowhere near that neat. good for you!
Family Guy season 4, 2 metal combs, a bunch of stoned and drunk mates. Ahh was a good night ey spee lol Apart from me slipping a few times and watched you roll about grabbing your head.
That reassures me. No offence man, mine are a bit like that and I was worried but yours look good. Sorry, I mightn't be making sense.
The Sea Salt drys out your hair Dry Hair= Helps the dreading process The Lemon juice I believe Conditions your scalp but dont quote me on that. I would just use the sea salt after washing your hair in the shower. Mix it with water then spray it on your dreads then rinse it out.
