just for the record: i dont hate hippies or the hippie movement, but i hate kids today who say they are hippies and seem to know everything about it. and most all people who say they know shit about it for that matter, unless theyre in their 50s and up. which is nearly all the "hippies" in this forum...

 

i also dont like kids who start getting all philosophical when they are under the influence of drugs. not only to you not make any fucking sense when you arent stoned, youre completely incomprehensible when you are.

 

The whole "lets fuck with the hippies and watch them get mad" thing is kinda worn out if you ask me. How many times has this been done now? 50, 60 thousand? in a differant form. I really am tired of seeing it myself but as long as everyone else is having fun....

Like I said earlier, most of the Hip Forums "hippies" don't actually know anything about globalization or the new global era. You might, Fractual_, I don't know. But a lot of the kids here do not.

I understand that "inner knowledge" and such is very important, but so is an understanding of the world around us.

 

ill be honest that i dont have a clue about globalization, i can assume though. i can also assume that its no where NEAR as important as the inner revolution, thats just GOT to come first guys... dont know how many times i have to tell you all this...

 

You do realize that the hippie movement was political in nature, right? It was not created as a spiritual journey. That bullshit was added later. What's the good of an "inner revolution" if you never do anything about it? So you have an inner revolution... so what? What are you going to do about it? Sit on your ass and get high?

 

Hi... I didn't join this thread until now... I would just like to say a few things... I didn't read the whole thing, and I'm not going to, although I immediately believe it's one of the greatest threads on the 'hipforums'... I just wanted to say that people who call themselves hippies don't automatically claim to know everything about the hippieculture or anything... And there are two things to be said about the name 'hippies'. On one side, it's ridiculous to call yourself a hippie, unless you're from the sixties/seventies and still live the life, which I doubt. On the other side... the meaning of the word hippie might have changed, because the world has changed... then it's all just about a certain state of mind... Well, on that side, it would still be ridiculous to call yourself a hippie, because you're just a left-wing person... (although I have met some vegans who claimed they disliked everybody who wasn't vegan, which I find pretty rightwingish (sorry, I'm Dutch, but you see what I mean). I told them it was kind of a fascistic remark to make, they didn't like that )
But after all this is the 'hipforums', so if people want to call themselves hippies instead of lefties... go ahead.

Being a regular smoker, I will confess that cannabis makes you boring... that's why I'm now quitting for a month, to get my head straight again and become clear... I will begin again and quit again and begin again and quit again...
