Better you than me. I couldn't do it. No, I take that back. It's not that I couldn't do it, I simply wouldn't want to! Sorry, that wasn't exactly encouraging, was it? My husband does a yearly fast every Winter Solstice, and it's only for 24 hours, but I have never joined him in this. I do however, cook a big feast to celebrate the Solstice after the 24 hours is up. Good luck to you!
Fasting feels good, you feel so light, and empty, and open. It can be psychedelic and mind and mood altering too. It is so good for your body, and your digestive organs to get a break from their usual functions. Healing takes place, and a more thorough cleansing for organs that usually are too busy processing to do self cleaning. I have fasted 4 different times for 9 days, drinking only water, fruit juice, and tea. I felt so good I didn't ever want to eat again, but then I came down from my high at some point, and resumed eating and enjoying eating again. It is a grace to be able to fast. It doesn't happen very often that I can start a fast and keep it up, but sometimes it just works. I would recommmend to anyone to stick it out for as many days as you can. It feels good, and is good for you.
