I don't know who likes fake-cheese here, but I've just had my second encounter with it ever... and it was scary enough I wanted to warn y'all.

My family just tried a gluten-free box of Vegan Mac & Chreese from this company http://www.chreese.com/pastas.itml and it was AWFUL! I don't know how the other flavors taste, but I would absolutely stay away from the alfredo one. The pasta tasted like raw peapods that had gone bad, and the chreese sauce - I can't even think of something that it tasted like. I don't like to waste food, but I have to admit that after two bites each we all tossed it out. It was really that bad.

Just a friendly review - hopefully nobody else will find out the hard way; this stuff was nasty!
    love,
    mom

I've heard that the Alfredo style is pretty nasty. But I like the regular mac n chreese. It's not something I would ever try to feed a non-Vegan, but I like it. Keys to success:

    1. Do NOT use a soy milk containing sugar. I use Silk Unsweetened.
    2. Don't be shy with the Earth Balance.
    3. Personally, I think Mac n Chreese works best as a base food that you stir other food into. Try adding some cooked veggies, mushrooms, Boca crumbles, or diced fresh tomatoes or avocado.

We tried it with broccoli, and used unsweetened soy & tons of earth balance too. I'm thinking maybe we should give the regular flavor a try too, just in case.

If that doesn't work, it's back to my homestyle mac n cheese (real cheese) for the kids and I'll eat salads for lunch again. I had just hoped maybe I could get by with making ONE meal ;)

mama, get the Uncheese Cookbook. Lots of good subs that are still creamy.
