I'v heard about some people that lost some weight playing with their Wii, but I have to wonder how lazy were these people that waving a stick around got them to lose 5 lbs or more? Anyone know about this?
yeah ppl say wii sports can be a work out, imo lazy cunts. go to the gym, go jogging, do some weights, masturbate - saying u lost weigth playing games is an embarrisment
I've worked up a sweat playing the boxing game on wii sports. it's not a full body toned workout but it's probably better for you than traditional games.
same thing about DDR. it helps lazy people who love vidoe games lose weight if they are chunky. beats running the mile...
a guy on wiichat.com made this big reasearch thing on how he lost 20lb's playing wii sports every day I told him it was probably mostly water weight and u cant develop muscle through playin the wii and he freaked out, imo i'd rather hit the gym or go running anyways
But what happened to jogging, swimming, or 'actual' sports for exercise? If I feel like a chunky monkey I'll stone up and go for a long walk..like 2-3 hours long and feel great!
To me that isn't likely. Because you don't need to fling that wii-mote to make the game work. And most gamers after awile would just go gentle on the wii-mote and then the Wii becomes just as passive as any other system is. You're better off just working out the effective way. If you can't go outside then throw some punches and kicks or lift weights.
DDR isn't too bad of a work out. It ain't building muscles but it certainly can get aerobic if you keep at it and get your pulse up and steady for at least 20mins. It's even got a built in fitness program tracker. I had a hard time with it though 'cause my mat forces me into a slightly too wide of a stance that it does wierd things to my arches when I really get going. If all the arrows could move in about and inch or two each, it'd be perfect. Still haven't tried wii.
It might give you the "fun" aspect but what about the experience of life? Its just kind of depressing to even think of someone staying inside on a clear, warm, sunny day stuck to their games.
it wont make you lose weight, but the boxing will make you sweat like crazy. my friend and i were playing it for a couple hours one night, and man the next day i was kinda sore. no, its nothing like lifting weights or any of that, but the boxing may surprise you if your not in shape
^ if you sweat during exercise- somethings happening like weight los or muscle gain depending on exercise. the soreness means ur muscles took on more than theyre used to and are adapting by pumping up aka growing aka buffing up xD
I read that through exaggerated movements while playing on the Wii, one can in fact lose weight. Many people here have a really bad attitude. "Rather go to a gym"? Well, the point is that you're losing weight AND playing a TV game instead of just playing a TV game and getting bigger and more unfit. Has anyone here actually got or played a Wii? Try playing the Wii Sports boxing for 30 minutes. I guarantee that afterwards you will be really tired and hot.
Oh and that pain one experiences when exercising is actually created through the build up of lactic acid in the muscles and surrounding joints. I hate to correct you, but really, you need not get so upset about something that is potentially a good thing! Your initial post on this thread seemed very angry for some reason. And sweating just means that your body is heating up - it doesnt necessarily mean that one is losing weight or building up muscle tissue.
sry to tell you... but you'll always be fat you have no life so go kill yourself you play video games all day and whack off to super mario Good luck getting some dick you fat bitch
okay, some people, like me, might be completely un corordinated, and physically unable to jog, or work out in the traditional way. Working out, to people like me (and i doubt i'm the only one), fucking SUCKS. playing video games, on the other hand, is a pleasant diversion. Playing video games can be a lot more social than working out at a gym, too. you can interact with other people over a shared goal, instead of sitting there lifting something up, and putting it down again (hell is repition). (ironically, i'm the thinnest person i know, but i'm guessing that's from being a veggie for ten years and not eating once i'm full).
