I got seeds from Europe from a good site, Misty, K2, Big bud, and others. The first buds I got looked great, When I dried them they were tasteless, and the buds had dried up to a crisp brittle leaf.

Question, I have raised them in dirt, with 800 watts of HPS, the conditions are a little warm, 92', and humidity is about 60%. I have a co2 bubble machine to enrich the atmosphere.

Some of my other bud/varieties are just now maturing, buds are nice, I fertalize, no pest. What can be up with the tasteless bud, the high is not vety good either. Last time I grew plants, they were just as weak as this time. Dont know what is wrong.

Sounds like you dried them to death! Drying and curing are very important stages and have a dramatic effect on the finnished buds' texture, taste and potency! If done correctly it can be the answer to a conesseure's dream. If done incorrectly it can give results like you had.

TH is right, you over dried your buds by the sound of it. Here's how I dry:

First of all, the slower you dry, the better it will burn. I start out taking all the fanleaves off the plant along with any other "not-sticky" leaves, then do a second run taking off all the sugarleaf, which is saved for ganja butter or hash making.

I hang the buds up in a closet with a fan. Make sure the fan is not blowing directly on the buds, but rather away and just moving air around in the room. When you can bend a stem and it neds a lil bit then snaps, then they are ready for curing.

Go to walmart and go to the canning section and there youll find mason jars. For the first week open the jars for 20 minutes of so once a day. After that keep on burping them every 3 or so days for another week. After that all the cholophyll in the buds will be gone and they will smoke and taste smooth.

If your buds get overdried, wet a Qtip and put it in a jar with your buds for 12 hrs or so, they will be perfect.

    Peace out and good luck

Yeah it can be hard to judge, the stem snapping is the best way though, well for me atleast. You don't want the stems to be so brittle that they snap as soon as you move them. You want them to bend a tiny bit, then snap. All that be said, it's better to over dry than under dry; if you throw the buds in the jars too early they may mold up.

Lune or Cammo, although I got great seeds, 840 watt HPS, the buds when dried are thin and weak. The taste is OK but no real kick, the sucker leaves are better when vaporised than the bud. WHats up with that. Harvest too late??? suggestion.

It could be alot of stuff. How long did you flower for? Youre temps are pretty high, that might contribute. The light could be either too close, or too far away. Did the plants have trouble growing at all? Maybe it could be the seeds, I've had friends who have grown out cheap stuff like nirvana and had it be not worth the effort, but they do have 1 or 2 strains I'd.

The seeds were from a reputable site in europe. Heat may be the problem, the space is a 6X6 storm shelter underground. It has a 9 inch opening and exhaust ports with intake and outtake fans that turn over the air every minute. The temp get into the 90"s during the light time, I grow at night so the air temp is cooler and rest during the day. No place in the house where I could use a/c. These are mature buds, red hair, full seed pods, (no seeds) the plants are 4 months old . I used different strains, so they are matuing at a different rate. Water, neutrients, every thing else is normal. On some of the plants, my exhaust fan went off, the room was very humid, and some of the plants got some fungus starting on them. I pulled these plants, put them in the garage for 4 days under a 1000 MH, same heat, less humidity. the plants recovered and have some dead spots, but the rest of the buds are fine. Light is about 12 inches from the top of the highest bud. What is wrong.

Also, when dried, the bud are not very dense, I currently have some drying the way you suggested, still, no zing in buzz. They look nothing like the pics you posted.
