It's a media blitz. Not watching it. But bet a lot of good music comes from a manipulation of environmental concerns. Too bad they are being used.

It is all real - those guys are just cynical.
However much hypocrisy the bands playing have - the message is a good one.
I've not seem many discusions about the event here - maybe because most have been talking about it [the issues] for years.
I suppose the purpose of the event is to educate and give a POV - wich most here have already [POV that is]..

Bravo network? CHANNEL NOT FOUND ERROR. So what channel on my rabbit ears antenna, would that be on? (Yes, I do have a newer digital reception HD TV.)

Environmental awareness? Isn't that a really "old" or passe topic, largely discredited by the enviro wackos or green nazis? How about corporateering awareness? Now that would be a better thing to promote. Why do we have these unaccountable "kings" who can't be fired, commonly called CEOs? Where is there public or even private accountability in corporations? Why do the workers and even common stockholders get no say in how the business is run?

Did you know that if you subscribe to satelite or cable TV, you are wasting money on corporate propaganda? And what for? They already have all those channels selling comercials telling us to "Buy! Buy! Buy! and then you will be happy." Now is that the "political correct" "environmental" message to promote? Why can't they make enough money on all those commercials, to have free, no-subscriber satelite TV, other than maybe just buying one's own satelite dish? There's something immoral about sending the signals to everybody on airwaves that the public owns, and then selling corporate-sabotaged receivers that are designed mainly to deny access unless you pay that corporate "use the airwaves you already own" extortion fee.

Besides, too much TV rots one's mind anyway. Read some good books.

it was great music, and rather it was "media" or not the comercials showed people what they can do to help...at least it was teaching the sheep to help out...
    dont be so cynical...
Just let the good that can come out of it come out of it...

to sum it up: Quit being so negitive about everything.

I'm sorry, but to me it seems "slightly" hypocritical for those bands to travel long distances in planes and to use loads of electricity to give those concerts. Imagine their carbon footprints, how many trees are they going to plant?
I have a better idea: NO concerts for a week and use public transport instead of private jets - now that would make a difference. *g*
