I apologize if this is a repeat question, or if there is info. in another section...maybe I can be pointed in the right direction....

I was wondering if anyone has information regarding the dangers of wearing bras in general....or specific types that are harmful....I know that there is alot of talk about underwires effecting lymph drainage and the such....but I was wondering if anyone could explain a little more....

I admit that when I am not in public I do not ever wear one, but I kinda have to when I go into work.....are there better bras out there? Safer ones?

    Thanks!

bra`s would only be a health issue if you had a worn one, slept in it and the wire popped out

the wire keeps your lumph nobes from getting the proper circulation they need. the only safe bra is no bra. or maybe a loose fitting cotton one thats not meant to shape your breast in an unnatural fashion. they also lead to higher rates of breast cancer.

    they also cause sagginess.

I had way better links up here one day. I'm not using the right google phrase or something. I'll post more if I find some good ones. I have found actual medical reports in the past though. thats what i'm trying to find.

The danger in not wearing one..the guy could get a black eye. LOL Isn't it good to wear one to hold those babies up there?
No, really, I guess it would be to not wear a too small of a size one, if you wear a larger size bra.

Well you can wear a bra liek those for sport if you are unsure. They are more soft and keep your breasts really fine, even when running. Thats what they are made for.
But maybe the best is to go in a shop that sell them, and ask there.
One of those specialised in it.

    hi there,

i do know that bras are bad for your back if you wear them 24/7 but as long as your dont it should be all ok

non-padded bras are also a bit better

    hope it helps

ive always heard that the only real issues come from wearing a bra too much, ie wearing it to bed, or wearing them for the whoooole day taht youre awake (i typically tak emine off as soon as i get home and don tp ut one on in the mornin gtil im getting dressed to leave teh store), o rif youre wearing one thats far too small for you

There are companies that make more "natural" bras: www.bluecanoe.com
and www.decentexposures.com These bras don't shape at all but they do provide some support without being overly constricting. I love Blue Canoe...wear them most of the time; they work well for me.

There is a book called "Dressed to Kill, the link between Breast Cancer and Bras" that addresses the dangers of bra wearing. And, there are lots of links on the web, as several folks have already said...

There is really no danger in wearing a bra if it is the right size and fit for your body.

No danger, really..unless you use them as a slingshot when you are mad at your bf or husband.

Also its alright as long as you dont wear them by night! I read soemwhere girls wearing their bra also when sleeping and its a bit too much and not good at all.
They have to develop muscles and cant do that if you have them in a bra all the time, plus thats uncomfortable and not good for blood ciculation.
I couldnt sleep with a bra on me. I cant even imagine doing so! lol!

i will not go without a bra. ever. my boobs are way too big and way too much a nuisance without a bra. i don't want them swinging around all the time. i prefer wearing a bra with a wide and lightly padded strap. having a bra properly fitted and adjusted relieves all the troubles mentioned here. they're not too binding, they're not digging in to your muscles and shoulders, but you're also relieved of the inevitable staring at the jiggle and cna once again walk with a bounce in your step.

Oh, do you have the problem of men looking at your boobs when they talk to you..like they are talking to them and not you? Stare at them like they are ready to explode, right?
I know a girl that this is how she felt and she got so sick of it that she made them smaller.
