Is this horrible ?: I think if this http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=465572&in_page_id=1770 does not alter peoples minds about ''climate change'' nothing will. I also agree with the Rt Rev James Jones - this kind of flood is not a ''act of god'' we are ''reaping what we sow''. He has had such a hard time about this - generally by people that have misquoted him [nothing new there]. We are reaping what we sow folks.
Summer will only last one day? Well I guess that depends where you live, it's been hotter than hell here, for the last two months, with no signs of stopping, and we've been getting rain but nothing of huge proportions...
As for Live Earth being effective, I guess that depends on your definition. Sure it brought awareness which is a good step, but will it really make any big difference? No I doubt it. It's too much of an inconvenience for people to save our environment, to much money, it's highly doubtful we will change on the level we need too.
It might have been more effective if it was 1985 when I was made aware of what was going to happen, we've known for ages.....god I'm old!!!
As I'd already said before in the other Live Earth thread, which for some reason has been moved... I saw the whole thing as a bit of a farce. I got to Wembley and I didn't see a single recyling bin in the whole place. The food was all fast food and crap...no local produce whatsoever. They were giving out plastic cups like they were leaves falling off trees. The electricity wasn't supplied by renewable energy resources and they were telling me shit I already knew. Was just one phat music concert pretty much!
