Glass pipes and screens?

I recently bought my first glass pipe. Woohoo!

This is it:



I'm just wondering whether you guys put a screen in your bowl? I might need to trim one down to fit cos the bowl is oval, not round. The hole is the shape of a tic tac and about half the size of one.
I've smoked through this already and it's all good until the last few tokes when ash starts flying through the pipe.

Tips?

 

I've never used a screen with glass.

 

I've never had to use a screen in my pipes before. I knew one person that did and it was always a pain in the ass.

 

Glass shouldn't need a screen, IMO. I've never smoked a glass pipe with one so couldn't tell ya how effective they are, but I would imagine they'd be more a pain.

Oh and forgot to add, that problem should soon disappear after a bit of resin builds up.

Yeah fuck resin building up, thats gross, you can get little bits of glass from a head shop that work to block up the hole some, use a little pebble, or a stem.

 

If you really want a screen go for a glass jack, they have them at headshops.

 

yea i just buy the little flower shape glass screens thats r made for glass bowls. i use a screen in 1 of my glass bowls and it pops right in fine but in my new 1 it wont stay.personaly i perfer screen's because u could smoke shake and keif without worry about sucking it thru and clearing the bowl in your mouth. but i would say for u just pop in little chunks of nugs and smoke that way until ur bowl curesents and resin builds up to block it

 

Get a small pebel that will fit in the hole, thats what your suppose to use.

I only have 2...out of my like 20 glass pipes that need a screen. When I do use one, I always use those glasss ones.
