I wrote this in about ten minutes. Also note that I am not a writer, so positive criticism is greatly appreciated. The Meaning of Life As I sit, I wander through dreams curiosity and questions-my mind still brings "what", I ask, does this all mean? but my mind falls flat like a bird with no wings so I sat and I thought about the meaning of life with love and beauty came bitterness and strife "What", I ask, does this all mean? but only more thoughts kept my answer unseen my mind casts shadows of what clearly is light I seem to be lost-a mind with no sight... as I sit here and ponder the meaning of life My longing for truth is a prisoner of time bound by the shadows of my very own mind "how", I ask, will this all transpire? but the questions I ask are the fuel it's fire
While using a literal and non-metaphoric style, it's hard to portray exactly what it is you mean. But somehow, you did it and kept it very poetic at the same time. I honestly think it's awesome, don't stop writing
You saying as the intro to your poem that you wrote it in 10 minutes worried the atmosphere for me. When people say that they wrote something in a hurry the poem should back it up by having a rushed energy. The last section is really good. I'd write another one and start with the end and continue from there.
So your saying I can only write poems as long as I take more time than I need? hmm...I agree with you about the ending though, I'm not too sure about the begining.
"As I sit, I wander through dreams" No no - Write under any circumstances you want all i'm saying is that i don't think you would have put this line in if you were rushed. It doesn't fit,
Ohhh, well when I was writing this, I was reflecting on what happened in the past. I wasn't writing the poem as it was happening. But I see what you mean.
